Division Schedules/End of Year

So, looking at our schedule made me start to dive into other playoff team schedules. A few years ago the nfl made it a point to have teams play their “divisional playoffs” the last few weeks of the year to make it more exciting and have a bigger impact for the Playoffs.

Here is our final 4 weeks of the year

2018

Browns, Saints, Falcons, Saints

2017

Vikings, Packers, Bucs, Falcons

2016

Chargers, Redskins, Falcons, Bucs

2015

Falcons, Giants, Falcons, Bucs

The last 4 years we have played a NFC South Opponent 10 out of a possible 16 games. Played a NFC opponent 14 of the 16 games.

Is that normal? I looked at our current playoff teams to see if they see the samething the NFC south does.

LA Rams

2018

Bears, Eagles, Cardinals, 49ers

2017

Eagles, Seahawks, Titans, 49ers

2016

Falcons, Seahawks, 49ers, Cardinals

2015

Lions, Bucs, Seahawks, 49ers

9 of 16 games with the NFC West, 15 of 16 in the NFC

New Orleans Saints

2018

Bucs, Panthers, Steelers Panthers

2017

Falcons, Jets, Falcons, Bucs

2016

Bucs, Cardinals, Bucs, Falcons

2015

Bucs, Lions, Jags, Falcons

11 of 16 games with the NFC South, 13 of 16 NFC opponent

Dallas Cowboys

2018

Eagles, Colts, Bucs, Giants

2017

Giants, Raiders, Seahawks, Eagles

2016

Giants, Bucs, Lions, Eagles

2015

Packers, Jets, Bills, Redskins

7 of 16 with NFC East opponents, 12 of 16 with NFC opponents

Chicago Bears

2018

Rams, Packers, 49ers, Vikings

2017

Bengals, Lions, Browns, Vikings

2016

Lions, Packers, Redskins, Vikings

2015

Redskins, Vikings, Bucs, Lions

9 of 16 NFC North Opponents, 14 of 16 NFC opponents.

Seattle Seahawks

2018

Vikings, 49ers, Chiefs, Cardinals

2017

Jags, Rams, Cowboys, Cardinals

2016

Packers, Rams, Cardinals, 49ers

2015

Ravens, Browns, Rams, Cardinals

9 of 16 NFC West opponents, 12 of 16 NFC opponents.

So why does the NFC South seem to beat each other up so much at the end of the year? Ratings? Scheduling?

Also, one of these things aren’t like the other....
