Michael Oher is the best one he's had and he was average on his best day.

Oher actually did well in pass protection when he was here. Run blocking was awful, but for the most part he didn't let Cam get sacked, which is saying a lot because Shula refused to keep TEs or RBs in to help block

He's not playing so that he stays healthy so that we can cut in the off-season. If he blew out his knee or something like that and was injured due to football reasons we couldn't cut him. We'd have to try to work out an injury settlement.

Yep... the decision has already been made to cut bait at this point and the team is trying to protect themselves from further financial damage.

I wouldn't put this in Sean Gilbert territory, but this is easily a top 5 and maybe a top 3 of worst decisions in franchise history

I can tell you that for whatever else you may think of him, Matt Kalil has infinitely better technique than Chris Clark.

Clark comes out of his stance so awkwardly that he looks like a toddler trying to learn how to walk. As often as not, his base is too narrow and his lateral movement is terrible. He's just as frequently backing up as he is moving sideways.

Heck, Byron Bell at least knew how to come out of his stance, get to an anchor position with a wide base and slide and mirror. What Clark calls "blocking" would more accurately be described as "getting in the way".

Yeah, this is just incorrect.  Clark has been getting TORCHED consistently, getting Cam sacked, causing rushed throws, or one of his specialties - penalties.  Kalil clearly was no golden boy, but he absolutely was better than Clark has played the last few games.... it isn't close.  Go back to the tape my friend

I feel like there HAS TO BE more to this story than we know. 

My money would be on a handshake agreement for Matt to retire this offseason and get paid a reworked contract to go away.  Unless I'm missing something, he could've come back this year, but mentally he's done. Feel like the team told him he gets to sit for free this year and collect those checks, in exchange for leaving with Ryan in the offseason and reworking his deal to take a pay cut to soften the blow on us financially when he retires.

like the other poster said, i'm just thanking gawd every second that matt and ryan can do really awesome stuff together when they're retired, and their kids will be set up for life.  im just so grateful ryan spent the goodwill and trust he had earned in one fell swoop to get his brother here or he would have had to share some of his $ with his matt.   now he doesn't have to and i thank cheezus for that every day.
