I beat the drum for cam when he was at 53% because of all the 40+ HD passes he threw.

Yes I make fun of a lot of Bradys stats and Youngs as well.

*The fact is 15 to 25yd and the ability to have multiple trajectories and velocities is the makings of a QB.

Jake before he got hurt in 2007 was a better passer. There is no dispute on this.

How many game winning throws has Cam made in the last 3 minutes of a game?

His mechanics don't allow him to make many.

Funny you rag on Cam, then when pressed have to admit he isn't the only one. Maybe it factors in when it comes to Brady and his 'greatness'? As for Jake who'd he have as WRs his entire career? Who was his LT, G's damn near his entire career? He still had bad footwork and threw high. No need to revise history.

*So, Alex Smith is what you are looking for? He's made an entire career b/t 10-20/25 yards. You'd take Smith over Cam? If yes, then say no more.

I don't know if he's actually injured, or just sore...none of us do.  But what I do know is that he's resting his arm and not throwing much in practice.  So I believe that as the game progresses his shoulder starts to get tired, which is leading to a lot of his inconsistent passes later in games.

So, I guess I would attribute much of his regression during games to simple arm fatigue.

Tired doesn't explain how he looks this season. It's more than just tired.

We've seen Cam tired before, but not like this.

If you don't see that you're blind.

He made damn near perfect throws over and over. And he had a big year without Steve.

emphasis on A. Bigger than a MVP OPOTY and 15-1? Cam gets the 'anomaly', thrown at him, but Jake's is somehow The mean.  I liked Jake. The revised history is over the top. Question, if he was this stud everyone loves to pretend he was, what was his path to the league again? Who did he beat out in Practice? Yeah, he was a gamer, blah, blah, blah. Again, i'm not down on Jake, but c'mon.

Cam has always had bad footwork and has always been inconsistent throwing the ball. But you can’t honestly say that his shoulder isn’t bothering him, the dude shows it as a game gets into the 3rd/4th qtr.

Can you blame the shoulder for his miscues? Not 100% . Does he make those throws if his shoulder is 100%?

What if Ron conveniences Tepper to allow Hurney to trade Cam for a 1st this year so he can draft another QB? Not saying it's a possibility just a hypothetical question.

How many Huddlers would still be a Panther fan?

That hypothetical scenario has no basis in reality. That isn't the current trade market. No team is going to give us a first rounder for a 30 year old QB with shoulder issues on a 100 million dollar contract.

Maybe not, but say that his shoulder issue is overblown and in an attempt to save his job Ron convinces management it's time to change directions at QB as part of his overhaul of the team.   Would you still be a Panthers fan?

You are right, no one would give a first round pick for what you said,..

but plenty would part ways with at least a couple of first round draft picks and more for Cam Newton.

This is an excellent point.

People keep on repeating the mantra about how Cam is getting beat up because he is a "running QB".

There is no question that he's a "running QB", yes, but Cam has taken most of his bad hits over his career on pass plays, not run plays.  The Detroit shot to the knee mentioned above.  The crown-of-the-helmet strike to his shoulder and neck area by Watt against Pittsburgh.  More hits to his lower legs in the pocket over the years than I can mention.  The shots to the noggin by Denver (at least one was on a roll-out or scramble I think).

It ain't the read-options and QB-draws wearing Cam Newton's physical condition down, its the Byron Bells and Amini Solatolus and Matt Kalils of the world combined with the overpaid fat-asses that cashed in and then just decided it was time to sit back and collect a check.

I couldn't agree more.  I've said for a while, cam rarely takes a hit when he gets out recently.  He gets out, and slides or goes out if bounds.    The worst hits in his career have all been in the pocket.

Why wouldn't I still be a Panthers fan? I don't bandwagon. So yes I would be. What specific reaction are you seeking with that question? Let me guess..

    • First of all Sooners fan? Mods? Second if you think someone needs a specific reason to hate Texas you don’t watch real college football.
    • 100% even if rest of team is really talented if they march young out to be qb and he plays like he has for 90% of his starts the panthers have already lost doesnt even matter how good the rest of the team is or isnt and also makes it hard to even tell how good they are.  They need true competition for young this offseason.
    • It will be awesome to have an improved stadium to lose in I guess....   https://www.yahoo.com/news/panthers-file-rezoning-bank-america-111500840.html     The Carolina Panthers have taken another necessary step toward renovating their home of the present and future. Panthers Stadium, LLC, filed its rezoning site plan with the city of Charlotte on Monday, initiating an important — if mostly technical — step toward renovating Bank of America Stadium. The filings state that the rezoning relates “primarily to technical aspects associated with improvements to Bank of America Stadium,” and that the rezoning is required because “the current stadium zoning is out of date” for the team’s stadium renovation plans.   The planned stadium updates include new seats installed throughout the upper and lower bowls; stadium safety and security enhancements; a reimagined South Lawn Pavilion; upgraded restrooms; exterior enhancements (including LED video boards) and more. Planning for the stadium renovation project will continue through 2025, with construction starting in 2026 and the renovation’s conclusion in 2029, The Observer previously reported.
