But, responses above aside, I'll answer you.

No, I would not be.

But, to follow that up, I would also not be a fan of any other NFL team either.  Because I'd be DONE.

Done 100% with the National Football League.

Cam Newton was a revelation for me.  I was a dinosaur that Ron Rivera would have been proud of before Cam Newton.  And then along comes this kid with SO much talent, SO much drive, SO much strength, SO much happiness, SO much joy... all about the game I grew up with and loved?  Who gifted my college team a national championship for the first time in 53 years all because of what he brought to that team?

Who, as a professional, has sacrificed the health of his body for the sake of winning for a shitty ingrate head coach, an organization run by an old school racist horn-dog, and a bunch of ingrate fans who aren't worth a sequin on his ugliest honorary cleats?

Yeah, if its clear that the Carolina Panthers organization, their shitty ungrateful fanbase, and the National Football League were responsible for breaking and ruining that?  For taking Kunta Kinte and tearing him down until he's finally the Toby they've always wanted just so they can abuse him?

Yeah... I'd be done, brother.  Without a doubt.

Man I love Cam as is, can't imagine how much more I'd love him if he brought my fav CFB team a championship and was drafted to my favorite NFL team.

I thought the sky was the limit after the MVP year, but this organization shat the bed...

I do think you're a tad bit hard on the fanbase though... we go hard for Cam when we're winning, that 2015 season was crazy. And when we're not winning, when any team isn't winning, the QB is going to take some shots, fair or not fair. Even someone like Rogers has gotten a lot of criticism this year. Fans aren't knowledgeable enough to give detailed accounts of who's to blame, I suppose they lack the sophistication. They're fanatics. And I don't think any fanbase is grateful, Eagles just won the superbowl last year, I'm sure you can imagine some of the things they are saying this year. Idk.

The only fallacy in your response is that Newton has been "taking shots" by fans, the Carolina Panthers, and the league, win or lose.

Hell, HIS ON MO-RON HEAD COACH told the national sports media "I'd have taken a shot too!"

If you think Cam Newton falls within the normal quarterback "We love you when you win, but we hate you when we lose" paradigm, you haven't been paying attention.

And, again, it ain't just the hateful, ungrateful fanbase.

It's also his hateful, ungrateful "I'd have taken a shot too!" head coach.

And the hateful, ungrateful league and league's officials who preach about player safety but ARE JUST FUGGIN' FINE when it comes to causing brain trauma or any other random injury against Cam Newton (see: non-call on a hit on Cam Newton "sliding late" v. call and ejection on a hit on Ben Roethlisberger "sliding late").

Well you get no argument from me when it comes to the league or our Head Coach. I mean I believe RR appreciates Cam, just not nearly enough, not like Carroll seems to appreciate/protect Wilson (not that I'd want RR to go that far)

As far as the fanbase, you could definitely be right, is hard to measure levels of hate fans of different teams spew. And the racial component is a another can of worms that I'm sure plays some part, especially when we're losing.

@Saca312, are you trying to suggest to me and everyone here that there aren't any gifs displaying Cam's poor decisions, bad footwork, and waiting late in the pocket (which is pretty normal) to make throws? Come on, man. If you're going to be an analyst, you have to be objective.

The problem with Cam has always been consistency. Just when you think that he's turned the corner, he has the WTF throws.

Who would you prefer at QB?

I would prefer that Cam stop forcing balls into coverage and missing wide open receivers. Seriously!

On an off note, I am not buying what @Saca312 is selling on the Samuel throw. Cam should've stepped up, and he had space to (though limited). He had enough space!

But, getting back to your question, I can't think of any QB that I'd rather have other than the three of the four future Hofers (not Ben), but they're really too damned old.

I think that there are two youngsters in Mayfield and Mahomes that are looking pretty good. Really impressed with Mayfield!

Currently?

Brady,Rogers,Healthy Wentz, Breese, Big Ben, Wilson, Mahomes, Rivers, maybe goff, maybe Watson. Probably Mayfield

So...a HOFer, a guy that cant stay healthy, another HOFer, a proven unique vet, a guy who would not make it in a shula/norv offense, a first year guy, another possible HOFer im a pack fan who wouldn't love him, a guy who has been in the league 2 seasons and a rookie.

Lol I'm done with you. You are playing around in the forum.

So the only guys you would rather have over Cam are 2 future HOFers and maybe 2 guys who haven't done it for more than a season. We all wish Cam was more accurate at times. Hell 3/4 of the the league wants rodgers, brees, brady....but after them there's Cam. Nobody fuging respects that! Dude has been doing it with a defensive minded head coach and a carousel of OCs, shitty o lines and no real #1WR. KBs best season and relevance was because of who? Its crazy how much this dude is disrespected by this fan base.

Tired doesn't explain how he looks this season. It's more than just tired.

We've seen Cam tired before, but not like this.

I disagree.  No, this isn't normal tired, but his arm is tired because he's not practicing.  The thing is that there is no way any of us has any legitimate idea of whether or not there's anything structurally wrong with the arm (it's 100% speculation and guesswork).  But we know for a fact that he's not getting his usual work in during game weeks because his arm is at least sore.  And that lack of work would absolutely show up as the type of fatigue we are seeing.

For the record, I am not saying there is nothing wrong with the shoulder, just that we have no real way of knowing...and even media reports have been nothing more than speculation.

If there was ever a contradictory statement, that would be it....

Not really, professional athletes are like performance engines, they need fine tuning and regular maintenance to work properly.  Right now, Cam's not getting that maintenance.  As a result, we are seeing his arm wear out as the game progresses.  Now, I fully agree that the shoulder being at least sore plays a role in that fatigue, but not getting the regular work is also a big factor and does explain why he starts out fine, but wears out.

    • First of all Sooners fan? Mods? Second if you think someone needs a specific reason to hate Texas you don’t watch real college football.
    • 100% even if rest of team is really talented if they march young out to be qb and he plays like he has for 90% of his starts the panthers have already lost doesnt even matter how good the rest of the team is or isnt and also makes it hard to even tell how good they are.  They need true competition for young this offseason.
    • It will be awesome to have an improved stadium to lose in I guess....   https://www.yahoo.com/news/panthers-file-rezoning-bank-america-111500840.html     The Carolina Panthers have taken another necessary step toward renovating their home of the present and future. Panthers Stadium, LLC, filed its rezoning site plan with the city of Charlotte on Monday, initiating an important — if mostly technical — step toward renovating Bank of America Stadium. The filings state that the rezoning relates “primarily to technical aspects associated with improvements to Bank of America Stadium,” and that the rezoning is required because “the current stadium zoning is out of date” for the team’s stadium renovation plans.   The planned stadium updates include new seats installed throughout the upper and lower bowls; stadium safety and security enhancements; a reimagined South Lawn Pavilion; upgraded restrooms; exterior enhancements (including LED video boards) and more. Planning for the stadium renovation project will continue through 2025, with construction starting in 2026 and the renovation’s conclusion in 2029, The Observer previously reported.
