We lucked into Jake, not Cam. With Cam, we lucked into the #1 overall pick. We've had plenty of sucky seasons but only one #1 overall pick. Finding a franchise QB is hard. It's why every mediocre or better QB out there who comes up for a contract is getting $20M+ per year. Our chances of finding two back to back seamlessly is very slim. Montana/Young, Favre/Rodgers, and Manning/Luck are about the only ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Tepper will make sure that Cam/futurepanthersqb is next on the list.

How many legit starting QBs are found as afterthoughts on the FA market? We got very little finding Jake. We're probably in for some rough years inmediately following Cam.

What are u talking about all of Panthers years are rough. We can't even win back to back and alot of it's on Cam. He has never tried to correct his footwork and is too damn hard headed to listen. I think we will be fine and it's time for a change. Don't see why everyone thinks he has been so elite because he really hasn't. I think they won't to blame is sorry as play by saying he has a hurt shoulder. That's bull crap!

Ironically we had targeted Wilson in the 4th round. That would have been historically crazy if we had drafted him.

Ron would have killed his career by stashing him on the practice squad and never playing him.

What are YOU taking about? Obviously Cam's shoulder is screwed, Chris Clark is looking like he came off the couch. Our rookie is getting beat by fast guys and he's a fast guy. The DC and RR had him playing 10 yards off the line of scrimmage, Bradberry regressed mid-season, no pass rush, dumb penalties by Trai Turner and Moton, Ga-hell-no, the list goes on. It isn't just the QB. He's not perfect but let's not act like his footwork is gonna make the team complete. You weren't complaining in the 15-1, 12-4, etc. seasons. Relax. There was definitely more cohesiveness in those seasons.

Jake had 64 games before he got hurt.

Thru Cams first 64 games their numbers are almost Identical but Jake had a slightly higher completion percentage and I believe had a few more td passes.

So no he didn't completely outperform.

Again, picking and choosing. I said, he blew their numbers out of the water seasons ago. That still rings true. Through their CAREERS (not a sample), Cam has bested both. I think Steve B. had a record or two still standing, if I recall correctly. I'll have to look that up again.

Keep in mind that just accounting for his passing stats and win totals. If you add his rushing stats, there's no comparison.

Somebody who doesn’t overthrow a WR in clutch moments

Easy to say in a recent game with a busted shoulder.

Jared Goff has been lighting it up the last 2 seasons after being written off a bust.

there were plenty that said Wentz should have been 1st.

the only way Jared Goff would have gotten criticized more is if he were black,.. straight up.

but he’s been awesome so haters are quiet— only the comments even I make like Sean McVae makes the calls(duh, what playcaller doesn’t)

anyway, the dude had a 14 QBR the other night with 4 ints,...

his hate squad is out— they are all named Ace 2,...and Julios and PU...I guess theirs was RU ha

just saying— all this stupid talk gets quiet when Cam was having 5 touchdown games and looking like the Man of Steele,..

dude gets human and allows his below average team to return to reality with no one to save them and now he’s all to blame,..

guys named Ace,...PU and Julio’s— blah.

Cam is Elite— just hurt at the moment.

hes got all the stats except one that say he’s better or on par with Aaron Rogers and the rest of them.

That is all

Well you absolutely should beat someone's numbers for a team if you play twice as many games for that team.

That's not an accurate comparison.

I doubt he'll break all of Jake's records tho. Jake's Superbowl record still stands and hasn't been broken by anyone in the league yet.

Oh, forgot about the SB record (good times). The two things Jake had going for him in his SB run was SS Sr. and a great O-line. Look at the playoff stats for sacks. Major difference but that's just my opinion, not quite fact. It is an accurate comparison though because when you compare QBs, you compare their careers, not sample sizes. That rhetoric only suffices when discussing records such as Cam's eight seasons of 3k yards passing. That's when samples become  relevant to the comparison. We're discussing their careers as Panther QBs.
