Cam has on of the worst yards per completion in the NFL.  Cam has one of the worst QB ratings throwing the ball over 15 yards.  His #1 WR is running back, hence why his completion percentage is so inflated.  Cam threw 9 TDs and 8 int over the last 5 games.  Such an MVP performance.

The offense is designed for short routes. Know who's right beside him in yards per completion?  Aaron Rodgers

His shoulder is injured, and I'd wager that Funchess has been his primary target 15+ yards. Funchess.

And I literally just said until the last few games, where he hasn't looked like an MVP.

Continue to cherry pick and try to make your case, but your original argument has been blown to poo, his contract is actually a steal, and you really don't seem to have a clue, but what else is new there.

$23M is not a steal.  Rookie QBs contracts who are killing right now... their contracts are a steal.

Ohhhh so he can only be compared to rookie contracts. Well poo, NOBODY that's a vet is earning their money compared to the Goff, Mahommes, etc. contracts!!  CUT THOSE VETS AND DRAFT A QB EVERYONE.

Realistic view.  If Cam gets his surgery... he will likely miss 1-2 seasons.  Means he will be around 32 years old and out of contract with the Panthers.

Cam Newton projected to earn around $45M over next 2 years. Cam Newton contract was built to make him expandable after 2018.  His contract carries only $8.5M in dead money so if Panthers make him post June 1st cut, they can save $18M in cap in both 2019 and 2020. (Cam dead money hit was $30M in 2018).

Now, getting a shoulder surgery for Cam this offseason will be a disaster as he is out of contract in 2 years and will be almost 32 years old.  Surgery this offseason can potentially cost Cam around $100M.  Cam best option will be not to get surgery and try to get a new contract somewhere else with as much guaranteed money as possible.

Exploring possibilities for a successor could be beneficial. But to release him outright in 3 months? what the hell are you talking about>

Am I the only one that still sees the zip on Cam's ball. It's really not as bad as folks make it seem.  No he isn't throwing hail Mary's to further injure, but that thing still got zip

Zip doesn't matter if the ball isn't going the right direction.
