DG didn’t leave this team in good shape defense wise, offense wise he left us in decent shape. The kalil contract is Unforgivable

He was here 4 years and our defense had more talent. He also fixed the interior Dline. Something hurney has screwed up again in one season.

We we're gonna have a lot of turnover next year anyway. But there were things we could have done this year that could have helped.

Trying to get younger at center rather than giving Ryan Kalil a 10 million dollar farewell tour would have been a good start.

Leaving Taylor Moton at left tackle and counting on him as the future there rather than signing a thirty-three year old turnstile off his couch would have been another good move.

There are others...not paying Dontari Poe,Olsen, Davis, Torrey Smith, etc.

But here we are.

I dont agree with the Torrey Smith deal at all.  And i think Moton should've been left at LT as well, but i believe that goes on coaching.  Ron's the guy that decides to play what guys where...  so, i dont understand moving your best young LT prospect to RT and bringing in a guy off his couch either.  I mean, isn't LT supposed to be your best tackle?  More reason to want Ron gone.  And as far as Poe, I'm not sure he's this bad.  I think it's more of how he is being used and the fact that KK has become rather underwhelming and whoever is at end next to him outside of Obada isn't all that helpful either.

But like I said, outside of Luke, Donte, and Reid, i'm fairly ready to blow up the whole defense.

Why people expected a different result from a group who gave us more losing seasons than winning is beyond me. This team has major problems and its not just coaching. We need a GM and a coach who has a vision for the future.

What Torrey Smith deal? You want Worley on the team?

Hell no lol.  I meant holding onto him, bc he's fairly useless.  IIRC, if we cut him it would've only freed money up for us bc the Eagles ate the cap hit by trading him.  I approved of the trade and seeing what happened, Worley was always trash...  by "deal," i meant what happened after the trade.

Poe weighs 350 plus but regularly gets pushed around and today got dragged about three yards for a first down by Nick Chubb. An Atlanta radio guy prior to the season said he wasn't as good as we were paying him and he'd disappoint us as a starter. He was right.

Torrey Smith got us maybe one good game, but what he did more than anything else this season was keep younger, better receivers from getting more playing time.

Eric Reid works in a Ron Rivera defense against a traditional NFL attack. With a newer coach, he may not have a role. And against newer offenses, he's not what you need.

He was insurance in case Moore wasn't ready. Rivera should get the blame for making him a starter over Moore and Samuel. Cutting him during the middle of the season would pretty pointless.

That’s highly debatable, kk might be on his way out after a short productive career, Butler is a bust, Shaq is nothing great, and Bradberry is a average cb with horrible ball skills. Star was good his time here. Other then that not one guy worth building around on defense

the fact Cam cant throw long is why Smith isn't a valuable pick up...he is here to stretch the field . That doesn't work if the QB cant throw long...

The part of this conversation that isn't being brought up is how bad Ron is at talent evaluations. We may have had viable options for rookies that never had a chance because Ron can't get out of his own way. We've seen over and over that Gettleman did draft good players that couldn't get into the field because of Ron. He also whiffed epicly on some picks too. I think it's hard to be completely accurate with evaluating his term as GM with JR and his family attitude and Ron's blind loyalty in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

I agree on all points, but again, imo, some of these questionable personnel decisions go on coaching more than management, and Torrey is a prime example.  That was up to Ron...  Moore and Samuel were ready, and yet, he kept Torrey out there for weeks.

Should have drafted Hunter Henry instead of Butler. I bet he would have caught that throw in end zone for the game winner.

Yup

Just like Hurney shouldve held onto the pick that couldve landed us a Kyle Rudolph or a young Torrey Smith instead of trading it away for Armanti Edwards

Or Hurney shouldve held onto the pick that could've landed us Gronk or Demaryius Thomas instead of sending it for Everrett Brown

Or Hurbey could've drafted Carlos Dunlap or Golden Tate instead of Pickles
