Yeah, after we went 11-5 last season, no one foresaw anything but doom and gloom this year :eyeroll:

Go back to the start of this season. Hell, go back to the middle of this season. The majority of the board was calling Super Bowl.

It's truly baffling what has happened. This team really does have all the tools to be a very good team hence why we really only have one true loss, but we are just snake bitten in these close games

Anyone still trying to blame Gettleman for this season, especially after last season, is basically a total idiot.

Simple answer.

Scot, Gettleman got by on 2 years of excuses from his loyal fans because in their opinion he was digging us out of Hurney's Hell Hole.

You are a smart guy.  You know football.  To say NONE of this season's struggles are attributed to Gettleman's decisions and tenure here is naive and disingenuous.

I know you liked Gettleman's approach, but he had his flaws and we're reaping what he sowed now.  Sure, we can blame Hurney for retaining guys like Gano, TD, and Olsen...  but, funny enough, Gettleman tied up our cap in a turnstile LT and a below-average DT, all while only making 4 draft picks who can contribute in a meaningful way during his entire tenure (which included 3 first round busts).  That has nothing to do with Hurney and yet, it has us in a similar hell that Hurney 1.0 left, except this time we're eons older as a team.

Doubling down on the irony, it took Hurney 2.0 to finally address the back-up TE Position if not finally finding Greg’s successor. Despite getting Greg here to begin with.

Who signed our current starting left tackle again?

When you have full control of the roster, you take full responsibility of the team you build. That's regardless of who you keep or let go from prior regimes.

Gettleman took a 6-10 Hurney team that was 14 million over the cap and built it into a 12-4 playoff team in his first year. On the flipside, we were an 11-5 playoff team last season and got some of our best players in last season's draft. Hurney took that team and turned it into what you see now.

I realize Hurney fans subscribe to this weird "Butterfly Effect" like timeline where somehow if a guy Hurney signed this season is bad it's because Gettleman looked at somebody wrong five years ago, but I'm afraid it's all just spin.

This season belonged to Marty Hurney and Ron Rivera. If it had gone well, no credit would have (or should have) been given to Dave Gettleman.

Unfortunately, the reverse is also true.

Scot knows Gettleman fuged up. He/she's just too proud to admit it.

Gettleman succeeds: "It's because of Hurney."

Hurney fails: "It's because of Gettleman."

Riiiight :eyeroll:

Like I said, anyone who actually believes this stuff is a dumbass.
