This is what is so frustrating about Ron, he holds himself back by being too loyal. I really do think he is a good leader for the players and good coach, but he doesn't have that killer instinct to know when to make changes. He's too nice to his staff/vets. One of the main reason's I think that I liked Gettleman as GM was that it seemed like his rough personality could keep Ron accountable. Maybe Tepper could be that, but usually owners hire GM's who then are responsible for the coach.

Ron Rivera: Carolina Panthers winningest coach. Coach of the Year. Without ron we probably would have drafted Blane Gabbert or Jake Locker instead. Without ron we wouldn't of drafted Luke either. Count your blessings.

Because Ron is great at evaluating talent? You gotta be high

We still would’ve drafted Cam, but yeah probably not Luke, that pick was all Ron.

A good leader doesn't constantly throw his players under the bus to create excuses for his incompetent coaching protege.
