[Voth] Cam Newton on shoulder surgery after the season.

Recommended Posts

It was so incredibly fuging stupid to play Cam with a torn rotator cuff in his throwing shoulder whole already eliminated from the playoffs and aomeone over Ron's head should've made the call to shut him down if Ron wasn't willing to make the call himself and it looks like this is the case once again.

It was already hurt prior to the Steelers game. Remember the end of the 1st half against the Ravens when Cam got pulled for Heinecke to throw the hail mary?

Which is why aside from Watt sliding his helmet up underneath Cam's chin as he finished the follow through, the hit was as dirty as it gets.  They knew Cam had already been limited due to his throwing shoulder, and Watt impacted there and slid up to the make contact with the helmet as well.   I remember seeing the replay and knowing he aimed for it from how he came in.

fug TJ Watt.

OAN, I hope Cam takes all the time he needs after this upcoming procedure.  If you need a full season, so be it.  I don't see Luck having any lingering issues, so i hope Cam can have the same benefit from taking his time this time, hopefully with a new, non-dickhead coach who won't want to rush him back because he knows he can't win otherwise.

I was cussing when that happened.

I know Cam is a gamer, but it's not really smart to put yourself in that situation....even being a pick 6.  QB's should really only tackle those guys when it's do or die to get into the playoffs, or it's a playoff game.

Not Cam's fault, this is something that Shula and Dorsey should have crammed in his head....issue was...their names are Dorsey and Shula.

If he doesnt try there they will slam him like the not diving on the fumble superbowl thing. question his effort and love of the game.

The whole "Cam's arm is done" viewpoint will hopefully be rendered stupid by Sunday evening. Take away a couple of those picks as he was hit and we're still discussing how Cam carries the team (which he does).

The thing is though we Cam has been a completely different player since late 2016. He just doesn’t have any juice on his deep throws like he used to. He used to be the best deep passer in the league and now we can’t even complete a pass 20+ yards in the air... This isn’t one game, it’s been constant last year and this year. It’s a legitimate concern. If surgery is required to fix it then so be it.

I’m one who made a comment about his shoulder and it had nothing to do with those picks. It had to do with the obvious lack of velocity on his passes, the lack of his signature deep shots and his mechanics. If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck...

Some of those throws on Sunday didn't have the usual zip to them. Like the throw to Samuel where he somehow got the ball in there. It looked like the ball was just hanging in the air.

I am worried about Cam's shoulder and I feel the team knows more than what's being let on. If his shoulder is worse than we thought, then I can see why a conversion to an offense designed around getting the ball out quicker and shiftier guys would be desirable. But it begs to question why would we protect his blind side with a FA that rolled off his couch into a starting role.
