Cam haters, what could we realistically get in a trade for Cam?

Two first rounders and a 2nd. Wouldn't mind getting the next Patrick Mohomes in the draft. I've seen enough of Cam the past 2 and a half years. This is legit dejavu from the Jake Delhomme debackle way back in the day.

You’re comparing Tommy John surgery to Cam’s????

fug off

I’m under the assumption he’s talking about the arm injuries moreso than Jakes 5-int game performance in the playoffs where we were massively favored to win.

either way, still can’t believe he’s the sperm that won the race.

I bet you a team in the immediate future that is in need of a QB, actually drafts two in the same draft to make sure they hit on one of them and if they hit on both, the second can be traded.  I'm sure this has been done before in later rounds, but it would be interesting to see a team burn a 1st and 2nd/3rd rounder on a QB.  With the crazy salaries QBs are getting paid and the importance of this position, someone is going to do this soon and it isn't a bad idea.

2012 Redskins drafted RGIII, then Cousins.

This is a question for the people who have suggested we think about trading him. I would never trade him because he is my favorite player in the NFL and the reason I root for the Panthers. But lets say if we shock the league and put him on the trade block what would he fetch and what teams would be interested?

I could easily see the Giants/Jaguars/Bengals being at the top of this list as those are teams who have a playoff roster and could use a franchise QB like Cam Newton. I think those 3 teams would easily give up 2 1st round picks and possibly more for a 29 year old QB.

Cam bashers what you think?

His value in a trade ended 2 yrs ago ... we go to the end with Cam...

This is not going to happen, but what about...

Aaron Rogers has some nasty cap hits coming up.  GB has the 10th and 30th pick (as of now).  Trade Cam to the Packers for Rogers, and the two firsts.

We'd have 10, 16, 30, and 35-year old Rogers, who may be able to play 3-4 more years. I doubt GB would take that, but is that an offer we could refuse?

Trading Rodgers next year involves the Packers eating $59.4M in dead money.

a package of at least 2 firsts, 2 seconds, and 2 thirds (one of each in the top 10 of their respective round). they'd have to take Matt Kalil and his terrible contract as well. then i'd sign Kaep, extend Reid, and draft a DE, S, OG, OT, WR, and CB all in those first 3 rounds. use the newfound cap space to add a veteran LT and a better nickel corner.

In this scenario, the Panthers then eat $23.2M in dead money ($8.5M for Cam, $14.7M for Kalil) to paying out the remaining of their guaranteed money. It actually costs the Panthers more to trade/cut Kalil pre-June 1st than it does keeping him.
