Cam haters, what could we realistically get in a trade for Cam?

QB misses a wide open Mac against the skins to tie game

QB misses a wide open WR for two pt against Lions to go ahead and possibly win

QB throws 4 ints against the Bucs while getting pummeled when OL breaks down

loses starting CB on first def play against Seahawks...ends up with corn and captain against Russell wilson

kicker went mental for a stretch

Those were not coaches fault

Hired a guy in way over his head as DC...defense has been awful all yr

went for two against lions...bonehead call

missed guy stepping out of bounds against lions...cost us a TD

totally unprepared team against Steelers...got destroyed

Went for 4th down early, and didn’t go for it late against Seahawks...totally mismanaged that game

wasted 20 sec on clock before calling TO late against bucs

still will not keep sammuel on field

those were all on Rivera

Not the greatest Player but potential QB cuz in my mind Cam is still equal to Delhomme unless he wins a SuperBowl!

Y'all trying to excite yourselves over the possibility of trading the greatest player we'll EVER have is hilarious and pathetic

Cam is a Carolina Panther. He'll remain a Carolina Panther.

Some posters here legitimately think this team is never gonna have a franchise QB again after Cam departs and it's going to be all Clausen's and Weinke's until the end of time.

While we have a recent example of Favre to Rodgers, or Smith to Mahomes, usually there's some number of seasons between franchise guys. Even the Colts had one season between Manning and Luck.

This was my thought 5 years ago but we've seen so many young QBs come into the NFL and produce immediately that I don't make excuses for Cam any longer.  He's in his 8th year and us fans are all excited that his completion percentage is as good as the rest of the QBs.

Unless we're clearly in rebuild mode (like the Raiders), which we aren't, there is almost no trade involving picks alone that makes sense. Why blow up a team that just needs some youth on defense and better coaching to be a contender? Even 3 first round picks (which is honestly the minimum if Mack got 2 himself) would relegate us to rebuild mode for the next 2-3 years at least.

Realistically, a better option would be something like a middle of the pack veteran qb who needs a change of scenery (a la Andy Dalton or Derek Carr..or heck, maybe even Jameis) plus 2 first round picks. I would prefer Cam but at least you could rationalize that. Maybe Oakland parlays their own first round pick, the pick they got from Chicago this upcoming draft and Carr to us for Cam. Would energize the Oakland fanbase more than any rookie and give us a chance to inject some youth with a recent pro bowl qb who has fallen on hard times.

All that being said, this whole question is pretty absurd.

I bet you a team in the immediate future that is in need of a QB, actually drafts two in the same draft to make sure they hit on one of them and if they hit on both, the second can be traded.  I'm sure this has been done before in later rounds, but it would be interesting to see a team burn a 1st and 2nd/3rd rounder on a QB.  With the crazy salaries QBs are getting paid and the importance of this position, someone is going to do this soon and it isn't a bad idea.
