Twitter Thread on Cam Newton's Performance against the Bucs (Hint: the o-line sucked)

Just saw a twitter thread on Cam Newton attempting to make stuff out of nothing with an offensive line that was the equivalent of swiss cheese.

This one in particular really stood out:

Every oline got beat. Moton may have been the closest to being able to stop someone, and that's pretty sad on that rep.

Again, if Cam's bad, chances are a whole lot of other factors are in play that led him to be bad. This is an outright atrocity to watch what he had to go through.

Cmc was averaging 10  ypc so why did he get only 10 carries while cam and the pass blocking was off? Blame the playcalls?

Cam made some mistakes this game let’s be honest. But the o-line was trash and he’s due for a bad game. Especially when he’s carrying Ron’s sorry ass on his back when he constantly forces Cam into multiple game saving situations each week. Sorry but you’re bound to lose out on those no matter who you’ve got playing for you, eventually.

If this was the cowboys message board and zeke only got 10 carries they would be asking them to feed the rb. Cmc is averaging 5.3 ypc and averaged 10 ypc this game but only got 10 carries Yet Cam was asked to keep passing even tho he was struggling Bad strategy imo

Good grief, Chris Clark looks positively weird getting out of his stance.

I swear, he looks more like a guy who jumped back because he saw something scary on the ground than a guy getting set up to block.

I have no idea why the team thought it'll be a great idea to get someone off their couch to protect Cam's blind side when we had an able-bodied tackle that seemingly did well in the spot in the pre-season and is young enough that can develop into a bookend tackle.

Got me. Any time I watch film on Clark, I always find myself asking how the hell he got an NFL contract. He may not have been the world's greatest lineman, but even Byron Bell was better getting set up to block than this guy.

Thank God for Norv Turner. If he hadn't successfully coached Cam to get the foitball out quicker than in past years, Newton might have been out for the season by week six.

Did Clark bend down and pick something up in the fuging middle of the play, as Cam is running for his life and trying to complete that pass on the sideline? Or am I tripping?

Was trying to figure that out myself.

I don't know if he thought the play was over or what, but he basically stopped participating.

Agreed. It was weird.

Would that this were all there was...

Fahey actually posted some other clips that Saca didn't copy over here. The running theme on all of them is that when Clark jumps up out of his stance, his base is too narrow and he looks off balance (almost like he's about to fall backward).

There's a pretty funny shot of McCaffrey trucking a guy while Clark sits back and watches, though.
