You all are really overestimating the chances Ron is gone

You have way to high of expectations for this team. The gimme games were Lions and Bucs and we blew both. The Browns are going to kill this team and so will the Falcons and Saints. Yes they won't lay down but they won't win either. After a 8 game losing skid do you really think Rivera will keep his job?

As I remember,  you also convinced yourself that Hurney was done as GM  when his wife made bs allegations against him. You posted numerous resumes of candidates to replace him and went as far as picking your own favorite.  You were that sure Hurney was done as were many others on this board.   I want Rivera replaced as bad as anyone, but there isn't anything other than unsubstantiated rumors flying around so far -  since Tepper has no history as the sole owner of a team, and his prior comments about wanting to take long term decisions ( have patience),  I would give the chances of Ron being fired at about 50/50 or less.  That is unless the team completely gives up on him tis year.  Next year is a different story.  I think he will be held more accountable next season,  if he survives black Monday this year.

You are going to be wrong so you might as well stop typing now. This is not JR and the signs are already being shown.

It's not just this year's record. It's the fact that he's never put together back to back winning seasons. It's the fact that our division has figured him out. Both the Saints and Falcons have owned us since 2015. If you can't compete in your division you're left with trying to fight for a wildcard spot every year and no home playoff games. It's the fact that Tepper made it known how important that Steelers game was to him and we go up there and suffer one of the most embarrassing blowout losses we've ever had. It's the fact that Ron's teams have always improved down the stretch in seasons and this year we're falling apart. It's the fact that we have a roster full of young offensive skill players and a rapidly aging defense and Ron's philosophies can't consistently win with that makeup. It's the fact that our players consistently accept responsibility for their own shortcomings on the field while Ron and his coaches constantly deflecting any and all responsibility for any loss.

Very, very well said.

Ron Rivera hasn't gone to work during any season feeling as if he might be fired ever since a 1-3 start in 2013, because former Carolina Panthers owner Jerry Richardson made it clear then that wasn't his intention.

"He's always told me he would make no decisions until after. So I've always had that [assurance]," Rivera revealed in 2015 when the Panthers were making a run to Super Bowl 50. "And I've never used that. He told me if I ever had to I could tell that to you guys and I never did."

"And I appreciated that because it gave me comfort and solace going forward that I could do my job, work as hard as I could, do the best I can and at the end of the day he'll evaluate me."

Rivera gave no indication on Monday he has the same assurance from new owner David Tepper

This is one of the reasons why I'm glad old man Jerry isn't the owner anymore. Rivera knew he always had JR in his corner no matter what, but now, with a new owner, he's panicking and trying to scapegoat others in order to save his job. It's not going to work this time. Tepper wants to win. Your time is up, Rivera.

The thing about Richardson was that as long as he really liked you, poor job performance could be overlooked.

Kinda doubt David Tepper operates that way.

I really believe the OP is on drugs or something. How in the hell do you tout Ron's stats as a winner of a coach and Call Cam a lower tier QB. How many QB's has RR had since he's been here? You tout Ron, yet have NEVER seen him without Cam.

He has such a terrible perspective on anything football related. I literally cringe when I read anything he posts.

Anything to substantiate this?

Never heard of minority owners ganging up against that controlling partner to eliminate a key employee...guess it's possible, but would be interested to see some backup.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, some of the team’s limited partners intend to lobby owner Art Rooney to fire of Tomlin and to hire a new coach.

The limited partners, who became involved nearly a decade ago as member of the Rooney family sold their interest in the team after acquiring gaming interests that violate league policy, have no authority over the management of the team, but they have a pipeline to owner Art Rooney. Per the source, they plan to utilize it.

The full group of Steelers’ limited partners includes Rob Citrone, Paul Evanson, Larry Paul, Stephen Paul, Bruce Rauner, Paul Sams, John Stallworh, Benjamin Statler, Scott Swank, David Tepper, Thomas Tull, Peter Varischetti, and Mike Wilkins.

I don’t think Mr. Tepper enjoyed watching his new team get raped and left for dead by his former team. I really don’t think Mr. Tepper enjoyed that the response by the head coach was to give the team the weekend off to “get away from football” and refuse to watch the tape to learn what went wrong, which subsequently ruined a promising season.

I don’t think a self made guy worth 12 billion dollars likes any of that.
