Credit to him on that reaction.  He's just guessing and managed to guess right.  Some days you're the dog and for the past 4 weeks we've been the hydrant.

Pretty much. He is a full step in before any other lineman on defense or offense is off the ball.

The late game sack of Cam Newton by JPP.

JPP gets off a fraction of a second the ball moves. Any longer and it would have been encroachment.

It also bothers me a bit that it takes Clark too long to turn his head toward JPP to see his jump-- he does not have to watch the ball here--he can play JPP---the play clock was hitting zero on this play which is what JPP was going by--not the snap.  Another reason we should not be taking every play to :01

Now that I look closer. He's reacting to Kalil's head movement.  That's all him, he knew that ball was moving as soon as Ryan's head when straight ahead.

There was no need to guess.  The left guard taps the center and then a beat later, the ball is snapped.  Thats what they did just about every single play on Sunday.  No wonder their pass rush was so good.  Its pretty easy when you know exactly when to go.

JPP was looking at the snap, not the clock. Unless there is a clock in the grass.

on top of that, the play clock was hitting :00.  If he guesses wrong, five yards for delay of game--not offsides.  JPP is a veteran.  What we don't hear is Cam's voice, probably screaming "Fire!" or something that he knew was the code word for Kalil to snap it immediately.

Seriously, the most upsetting thing about this is Clark.  Game on the line, JPP on your left.  Why are you looking right?  JPP takes 2 steps before Clark sees him!

Here is what you need to know--he sees the clock and knows it is at :03--pretty sure he can count down from there.   Sometimes a LB might yell or count, but i am not sure he was not looking at the clock.  The QB does and most clocks are at field level.  You are good if you can tell where he was looking.

They have absolutely zero sense of urgency on offense.  It seems like Cam doesnt care at all about getting to he line and analyzing the defense.  We routinely get to the line to snap the ball with around 8 seconds on the play clock.  Cam barely has time to slide protections or anything before the clock hits :00. I dont get it.  Is Cam even allowed to audible this year?
