Eric Reid deserves a long-term contract

If he’ll have us, and the GM & Tepper want him back, I’d hope he’d stick with us. 

He’s young and a leader. I believe he can be the leader of the secondary. Donte Jackson already respects him, and looks up to him greatly. Pair him with a ball hawk FS, and we’ll see great things from our secondary.

I love how he has others on that field fear him coming.

I could see it maybe if Rivera stays.

If he doesn't, then unless we get a new head coach who runs a system that uses a box safety (not so common these days) his value would be severely diminished.

I don't see the value.  The league is moving to defense that requires more coverage skills.  Eric Reid is an old school box safety.

I do want to see what we havd in gaulden. Hopefully he can get a chance to showcase to us

Not everyone can be a All pro at every position, but Reid can definitely bring some nastiness back to the secondary that we haven't had since Mitchell.  He hits hard and doesn't take any crap...he can improve in areas, but you gotta remember he didn't have a training camp and OTAs to fine tune anything that needed to be adjusted per what coaches have seen.  He was thrown into the fire and honestly has done well for it.  

I'm all for a long term contract for him, sure up a secondary need instead of chancing it in the draft.

We should play Gaulden instead of Mike Adams, Corn Elder instead of Munnerlyn, Obada and Hayes instead of Horton and Peppers  Ian Thomas will now have to play which is a good thing.

100% agree.  Cut adams, resign reid.  One of the best in the box safeties we've ever had.
