McCarthy actually has a former connection to the Panthers. Jake Delhomme credited McCarthy for teaching him a lot of what helped him to be successful when they were both in New Orleans.

That said, if Tepper follows the Steelers model, he won't be looking at any retreads.

I wouldn't be mad at a McCarthy hire, but I think Mr. Tepper should reach for the stars and not settle (like the previous regime) for old dinosaurs.

Good interview this morning on Golic and Wingo talking with Jeff Saturday who played his last year in Green Bay with Rodgers and McCarthy. Saturday talked about how Rodgers would roll his eyes at certain play calls, and how that would impact (negatively) the entire offense. His main criticism was McCarthy hasn't evolved his offense over the past few seasons, but felt that the Packers should have waited until Black Monday to make the change.. I came away from the interview with the impression that McCarthy wasn't a great choice for head coach although all three men seemed certain he'd get another chance.
