I've seen a lot of posts about Tepper this, Tepper that; or...If I were the Owner of the Carolina Panthers

Stability. That is what most new owners want. But, most of the time, there is a reason for a new owner (in any business).

Just based the way the season has played out so far.

Everybody is gone. Coach Rivera and DC Washington, today

Promote Norv to Interim Coach. Let's get a draft pick.

...and black helmets.

I believe John Madden said paraphrased that all coaches have a shelf life

Too, People like to talk about all the Panthers talent on this board.  I don’t see it on either line and that is where championships are won

Add failed drafts, poor salary cap management, some retiring vets and some unmotivated vets, some ‘glad to be here coaches......the whole thing needs to be blown up

All we need to do is look at the .org standing pat after that Super Bowl loss to see the downward spiral started there and then the desperation signing of Kalil and the poor handling of Norman to the drafts making up to Norman, to the firing of Gettleman

..and oh yeah, the removal of JR

all things.change in time but win or lose the players make their millions

time to get the broom and start over   There is no replace Coordinator X with Coordinator Y to make things all better  this systematic collapse has been coming for a long time

only the Panthers could have Luke and Newton in their primes and piss it away

Norv came out of retirement to work with Ron.  Would he even be willing to stick around if Ron is canned?  He obviously doesn't need this anymore.

I imagine he'd probably be willing to finish out the season since quitting his final two teams midseason would seriously taint his legacy, and more importantly, so Scott wouldn't be negatively effected.  But I'm not sure that he'd be willing to take on the role of interim HC replacing his friend.

On the bright side (is there a bright side?), we are still a substantially better overall team then the perennial bottom dwellers out there.  Tepper obviously saw it, at least that's what I'd like to think.

Other than the 1-15 debacle, even when we posted non-winning records we were still putting good product on the field most days.

When we become a punchline on a sitcom (like the Jags on The Good Place have been) then we really have serious problems to overcome

It’s going to take us getting embarrassed at Cleveland for Tepper to fire Ron during the season. What would be the sense in Norv running the team for three games and then getting his pink slip

Oh don't worry, it's happening in two weeks unless for some reason this defense suddenly becomes lights out.

We won't get embarrassed by the Browns. We'll lose a reasonably close game. We'll get shellacked in the last three. Kinda funny that it's pretty likely our defense could force only one turnover in its last eight games. That would be hilarious

    • I understand the hesitancy. The one reason I'm hopeful is Bryce's biggest improvements have been on deep routes that are very hard to defend and demonstrate a high level of play. A lot of Teddy and Allen's 'high level' play was right at the LoS. But it's only been a few games like you say. We shall see. The good thing is we have a number of games left to evaluate him.
    • Show me where I haven't given him his props for playing better? Do you UNDERSTAND how bad he was to start the year? So anything that isn't absolutely horrible was an improvement for bryce....do you get that? Far as throwing dimes yeah the reactions are different but also just maybe.....WE SHOULD BE USE TO IT BY NOW and not still waiting till the back half of YEAR 2. You ever think maybe some folks feel that way? Aidan O connel performance doesn't take away but WE didn't start the circle jerk comparisons of the teams we play and where there ranked against whoever the qb was starting here. When dalton stepped in last year and threw 300 yards and 3 tds against Seattle all we heard was how trash Seattle defense was. He steps in this year and does it again against the Raiders and the bengals but those teams defenses are also trash according to some of you so it doesn't matter. Therefore, you can't blame people for applying that same logic to bryce and if another qb performs even better against that same team. If the roster is so weak no qb should be having good games and if bryce is the best qb on the roster then he should be putting up the better games no matter who we play.  Once again,  I have acknowledged his improvement but let's not try to sit here act like demanding crow, apologies, and retractions is somehow the same thing. It's still to early for that and nothing but built up emotion.
    • If you include Week 8, he drops to 13th in offensive grade and 11th in passing grade.   Still pretty solid.
