Probably true.

here It comes though— Rivera gets fired and everyone is happy,.. until new coaches are hired and everyone has something new to bitch about.

True but I think most of us are hungry for the team to be completely rid of JR's employees.

mccarthy like ron would be nothing without their QBs

And which coach is somebody without their quarterback?

payton without Brees?

Dungy without Manning?

Kubiak without Elway and Manning?

Holmgren without Favre?

Belicheck would probably still have won a Super Bowl but gone to 8 and won 5 without Brady? Right.

Tomlin without Ben?

again,... which coach is all that without their quarterback. Coaches coach and players play right?

Though it would make more sense to get a jump start on this as well ourselves so we can go into full blown coaching search mode...

We'll also be replacing our GM I would think.  I imagine Tepper doesn't want to talk coaching searches until his new GM is here...so I imagine Marty is also sweating.

Good point. The elite franchises flourish because in most cases they are solid at the GM and coach positions. If these guys aren't in sync it's gonna be tough to consistently win in this league. Good coaches need good players, and good players need good coaching.

We've all seen good coaches lose because of lack of talent. And, we've seen talented rosters lose because of poor coaching. If you've got a shrew GM supplying the a shrewd coach with a constant supply of talent you have a recipe for success.

I dont think most knowledgeable football fans would consider Hurney and Rivera among the elite in their jobs. We'll be better served getting a good GM and letting him hire a guy who has a similar philosophy on how to build a winner in Carolina.

Why? McCarthy is one of the NFL's worst coaches. He won games because he had Aaron Rodgers bailing him out. Much like Cam is doing here.

Actually not really no. He’s one of the best offensive minds in the game. Aaron Rodgers was good because of him. His problem is he never gave a shat about his defense and let someone else manage it. Namely an old Carolina coach.

All of these coaches knew how to win consistently and actually had back to back winning seasons which for some reason ron has never been able to achieve with all the talent he has to work with..

You do realize McCarthy is credited as being a large reason why Rodgers was able to fix his mechanics and become as good as he is... right?  So to say he would be nothing without his QB is ignoring the fact he helped to groom said QB.

McCarthy is a fantastic coach.  There is a reason the Packers were consistently one of the best teams in the NFL.  Packers fell off because Rodgers and McCarthy clearly don't like each other anymore.  This is no different than when Reid left Philly.

Actually yes. My family is from Wisconsin. Have you watched a Packers game? Their time management is almost as bad, if not more bad, than ours is, and that is quite a feat with Rodgers as your quarterback. McCarthy offers nothing. Nothing at all.
