Question about our potential cap room?

Anybody know how much cap room we could have with potential cuts and players like Olsen/Kalil/TD hanging it up?

Just curious, if we have a lot this could be another reason why this team might bounce back next year with a potential new coach and gm.

It being an odd year also helps...

Not sure how much cap room we will have, but hopefully we don't offer contracts to Shaq, Funch, and other bums that will be overpaid by some other team

My understanding is we have over 20 million in space.  But a ton of players to sign.

Edited...I’m obviously drunk.

Overthecap has the Panthers at 28 million in cap space heading into next season(just taking current contracts into account).

Here's what we can save with some potential pre June 1st cuts before the 2019 season

  • 2.5 Million (Dontari Poe)
  • 2.5 Million (Da'norris Searcy )
  • 2.0 Million (Captain Munnerlyn)
  • 2.8 Million (Ross Cockrell)
  • 5.0 Million (Torrey Smith)
  • 9 Million (Shaq Thompson, holy fug!!)
  • - 300,000  (If we cut Greg)
  • -1,800,000  (If we cut Matt Kalil)

So we could go up to around 24 million to what is listen (28 million). Which means we could have about 52 Million in cap space to work with if the right players get the axe

Where is that number?  Not saying you're wrong, but I've never seen that number.  Not to mention, guys retiring doesn't automatically mean their contract goes away.

I’m wrong.  I just double checked it.  I swear I saw that number last year when looking toward 2019.  Maybe I was drinking at the time.  Looks like 23 million as of now.
