But he also signed Matt Kalil and let Josh Norman go, so, I think those were worse decisions.

The thing with all this hand wringing about Greg Olsen is, even if we did move on from him, who do we replace him with? We didn't have Ian Thomas, or any young TE prospect with upside enough to remotely begin taking the reins. The best TE Gettleman brought in was Ed Dickson, and he was already almost 30 at the time.

Admittedly Olsen's contract isn't all that ideal, but he's about to retire anyway. Regardless of all that, it isn't Greg's fault that we decided to draft the biggest bust we've seen in years in Vernon Butler.

Thank God Hurney was able to get Thomas; otherwise, we’d be in some trouble at the TE spot. 

Anyways, in the long battle between Getts and Hurn, I feel both were trash and time has passed them by. I stated this a few years ago, and I’m stating it now; we can do much better than both and I’m hoping Tepper is able to finally get us a good GM.
