Opinions: put Cam on IR now

He came into the game having the best season by a QB in franchise history and had a streak of multiple touchdowns. He has one bad game and everyone says he's washed up and should be on IR. Apparently he isn't allowed to have a bad game like all the other franchise QBs. The fans also fail to realize that this bad game wouldn't be as magnified if the defense and coaching were clicking the other 11 games we played while Cam was playing good.

He can't throw a hail mary anymore. He either has a permanent shoulder injury or needs to rehab it back to 100%.

A few thoughts. Cam had his worst game of the season. I'm not sure if it's one bad game or his shoulder has given way and he needs to sit out an extended period of time. However, the offensive line made a turn for the worst. Gerald Mccoy's pressure from the inside played into the last two picks. Regardless, I think Rivera is gone and I dont think playing Cam 4 meaningless games to "salvage" his job is warranted.

We'll probably do it after we are mathematically eliminated, which I think will be a couple games or so before the season ends anyway. After that, then yeah go get surgery, rehab, do whatever needs to be done to come back healthy. I don't see how we win another game, but IRing  I think will make sense once we're out of the hunt.

Btw, anyone notice this shoulder thing is all because of Ron's stubbornness for playing Cam in meaningless games a while back? We were out of the playoff hunt then. Ron has not only pissed away 2 once in a lifetime talents in Cam and Luke, he has almost practically broken one of them.

Is there ever a season when he's not messed up? I feel like this is the norm with him ever since he messed up his shoulder the First time. Might need to do what the Colts did with Luck and just shut him down for a whole year. Start the rebuilding process and find a suitable backup qb that can win some games. I mean this dumpster fire is going to ignite rather quickly in the coming weeks, Tepper will dump Rivera and co. That's my opinion.

I don't see either Hurney or Rivera putting Cam on IR at any time until his arm is literally hanging by a thread. These idiots continue to run Cam into the ground with the read option bullshit like he was still leading Auburn nearly a decade ago. They're trying to keep their jobs, something which if Cam was put on IR would probably actually help them do. It's frustrating as hell watching this year after year. Rivera post game never accepts any culpability for anything that happens during those 60 minutes of play.

Cam is a precious commodity. An MVP level NFL QB in the prime of his career. He should be executing a modern day Pro level offense but instead running him into the ground continues to be a mainstay of Rivera's philosophy. 

Tepper needs to rid the Panther organization of the final pieces of Richardson's prehistoric infrastructure. 

I'm so fricking sick of typing the same thing year after year.

Why are there always excuses for Cam Newton? First, the offense was too complicated for him so they made it simpler when he was younger. Second, he didn’t have enough weapons. Then, Shula wasn’t utilizing the weapons correctly and calling the right plays. Now, he’s hurt. 

When will the excuses end. Maybe Cam is just not a consistent, elite quarterback. He has flashes and can do things that many can’t, but you never know what you will get with him. 

I know I will get hated on for this because this fan base continually fails to recognize when there is a real problem.

Actually, today would be perfect to defend him. Up until today, he was having his best year. Yards and completion % were up, and he had a streak of 100 passer rating games going. 

When folks are saying he’s done and they’re tired of this nonexistent “inconsistency”, then yea, he needs defending.

Cam has had his best season, and was up there with other elite QBs in most statistical categories.. What are you talking about?
