Why? He’s gone. Why fire him now? What could that possibly accomplish? It’s not like we are handing the team to Norv. Rivera has run his course but why embarrass him and cause chaos?

To announce we are committed to winning

Fug that. Fire a man when you know you're going to fire him. It's more respectful to pull the plug than it is to sneak around making plans behind his back.

What plans? You can’t even talk to anyone else?

It hilarious how many of the same people( not you) who constantly bitch about Gettleman not giving reach-arounds to players he cuts, but we should send Rivera packing like he is 1-11. And throw poo at him on his way out.

I don't think you have to disgrace the man. Just politely part ways with some kind words toward hin in the presser. Both sides can move on. It's like a couple who knows their relationship is over. What's the point in going through the motions and pretending everything is okay while you're both miserable? Just cut the cord. It's best for both parties in the long run.

And it’s done every year by many teams. Whatever our benefit. Have coaches that won’t be here coach the team. You think coaches don’t know it’s coming it most cases? There is no logical reason to fire a 6-6 coach during the season. One second after? Absolutely. Along with any other JR people.

 Awww.....you feel better now.

I would hardly call it an embarrassment.  But you go ahead and vent. Be any kind of dick-drip you wanna be?

He’s never had back to back winning seasons, he has lost us games because of time management, with all the talent we’ve had the defense has never been top 5 even though he’s a defensive player or and he hired and kept Shula around far far too long. But yeah he hasn’t been an embarrassment at all.
