Why does extracting Torrents take forever?......

Depends on how many seeds/peers where your getting the torrent from. The more seed to peer the better. You can have a few that throttle upload which slows your download. Also private torrents are a hell of alot quicker then public. Find some good private sites and get registered.

Haha, there is definitely a lot of confusion going on in this thread. Smootsdaddy and Gat are correct though. utorrent is used to download a .torrent file. The time it takes to download depends on a number of things, the most important being the number of seeds, size of the file, and speed of your internet connection.

Generally, if something is going to take days it means that there are not enough people seeding the file. When selecting to a torrent to download, tracker sites will provide the current number of seeders and leechers for a particular torrent. You want to choose something that has a large number of seeders (a seeder is somebody who already has the file downloaded in it's entirety and is uploading it for others). Having a lot of seeds also means that the file is more likely to be a legit copy of whatever it is your downloading.
