People said Andrew Luck was done too, they were wrong. Besides, it's not like Cam was having a bad year, just a flukey bad game. Two interceptions he was being hit, one bounced off ?Moore?'s shoulder.

How long did it take for Luck?  He basically missed two years after surgery?  With fits of looking like hot garbage when he did play?  I'm with you.  I think that Cam just needs the rest of the time to recover, hence why we aren't throwing 50 yard bombs.

Oh, and our O line has some major issues.

Cam's running has kept us up and functioning, but Cam could use more rehab on that injured shoulder.  He'll be fine.  But it sucks this season is completely lost because of not Cam.

His deep passing has always sucked and now its just nonexistant....  Personally I am ready to see a change at QB....

Did you miss the Ted Ginn years?  Cam was great on deep passes. His struggle was always around 10 yards, as he would throw high rockets.

Unfotunately you don't win games with presence...

Cam just isn't very good and has never been. This is his 8th year in the league and he has only one year with a better than 2:1 td:int ratio.

He has yet to hit a 100 qb rating over a season and now has 2 seasons with >60% completion.

He gets flustered in big games and makes mistakes at the worst possible times.

500 rushing yds a year just doesnt make up for the fact that Cam can't throw as well as he should be able to.

I don't feed trolls.

I swear it was that damn hit in the Eagles game that caused all of this. I knew it was bad when I saw it but Cam puts on that superman smile and I think "He will be fine".... He is not fine but to those of you who think he would be OK with going on IR tomorrow I laugh. Cam's not going to quit.

listening to the mac attack, is fuging embarrassing. This franchise has never had a QB with the presence of Cam. Ignoring everything that is wrong with this team, the bottom feeders are using him as a lightening rod and feasting off of the negativity for traffic/attention.

Our local media has been that way the entirety of his career. Even Igo can't resist the clicks that anti-Newton discussion brings.

I've said all along that a significant portion of this fanbase merely tolerates him, because if he's playing well they are nowhere to be found. Were Panthers fans piling in on the phone lines to congratulate him on the Eagles comeback win? But one bad game, and you would think he was worse than Jimmy Clausen. At this point I don't even want to watch the next game if Cam is struggling that badly with his shoulder. Sports are just entertainment at the end of the day. Truthfully I simply don't think this fanbase deserves sustained success. If that means Cam going elsewhere to a fanbase and franchise that will appreciate him, so be it.

You know the last 7-8 years have been eye opening. My fandom has definitely taken a hit. Its been just about football, until Cam came. The rabid useless segment of society have increasingly made thier presence known. I guess what else should be expected from a fan base that loves that sport with the cars driving in circles, at that venue a short hop from the stadium. You know the one where they fly like 50 fuging confederate flags in the center/infield.

Just like this idiot, Tony Dungy....

Honestly speaking, to my eyes, Cam look like he's been over extending himself with throws all year long.  Maybe later I'll see if I can find some highlights between this season and previous seasons, but I'd say the hits are finally getting to him.  I always thought with Cam, 10 years of good QB play would be the most he would muster, due to his physical playing style.

I don't know of a fanbase that would appreciate a guy completing <60% of his passes, having a career qb rating of 86 and throwing a pick for every 1.8tds while getting paid 20million dollars a year.

What's funny is that the same fans who attack others for defending Rivera as "accepting and clinging to mediocrity", seem to be the most desperate to attack those who criticize when Cam makes mistakes, as if the fanbase should be so grateful that the franchise doesn't have a bottom poo tier qb (the cam homers often use refrains like "you deserve moore and clausen as your qbs forever"), that any criticism is almost blasphemous or something.

Meanwhile, the stats bear out that Cam, among QBs in this league, ranks similar or worse as Rivera does among active coaches:

Ron - 12th highest win % among active coaches
Cam - 17th highest passer rating among active starting QBs (10th this year), 14th highest career TD:INT ratio

So does this mean that we can fire back at those who attack Rivera and call for his firing with quips like "you deserve Seifert as your coach forever"?
