Cam Arm Is Done

I'll give an unpopular opinion. Cam newton has been terrible for 2 1/2 years now. He relied on supreme athleticism and arm strength his entire career which covered up his weakness's. Yea, Cam will have some amazing games here and there, because he was gifted enough to do it on occasion. But at the end of the day you have to thread the needle with the football against great defenses.

After watching Cam for 8 years its apparent his accuracy is actually quite bad, his ability to feel pocket pressure is horrid, his ability to read a defense is abysmal, he literally always stares down 1 receiver like he is in fugin highschool.

One of the best attributes of a QB is being able to throw a receiver open accurately, and being able to anticipate open windows to throw the ball in. And in 8 years I have never seen Cam be able to do this consistently. This is the main factor as to why I have never considered Cam elite, and he honestly never will be elite.

Cam's arm strength is pretty much done, he has become captain check down the entire year. I know I will for sure hear about BUT BUT BUT HE CAN RAN DA BALL SO GROOD,  Yeah! We fuging know his running ability is amazing, guess where Cam is without his running ability...a backup in the NFL at best, most likely not in the NFL. That's not exactly what you want to have out of a franchise QB.

A gunslinger QB who loses their arm for is never the same again. It happened to Jake Delhomme after Tommy John and I was fearing it happened to Cam Newton after shoulder surgery. I keep hearing explanations for his duck passes but other QBs in the league get hit too and they don't need a backup to throw a heave.

Cam’s arm is clearly not 100%.  Our season is all but done.  Why don’t the Panthers pull him for the season and give him rest or whatever it takes to get him healthy again and put in Heinike giving him some valuable experience.

Maybe its the way its drawn up for these come back routes, but my god its maddening watching him LOFT these passes to the sidelines that get picked or almost picked 90% of the time...is it he's lost the zip or how its drawn up to have it thrown with some air under it?

Its scary, to remember him being able to throw off his back foot falling back for a 60 yard pass, to where he can't get it 50 yards downfield.  I really do hope its just fatigue from being hit, and not him deteriorating this early in his career.

One bad game. Something tells me some of the ones saying Cam's "done", or should be traded, wouldn't have given up on Andrew Luck.

You know I'm a Cam stan...  and it is bothering me man.  It wasn't bc of this game, it was bc what this game confirmed...  again, this is the second time this season that Cam has willingly subbed himself out on a hail mary attempt.  That is extremely troubling.  We're talking 55 yards and he didn't even want to attempt it...  that's how bad he knows his shoulder is.  And it was the end of the game, it wasn't like he wanted to save some for the second half like the first time he subbed himself out.  It's pisses me off at this staff and Gettleman overseeing the shitstorm that led to this...  we're talking about a genetic freak who could launch it 80 yards in the air, EASY...  that was the strength of his game.  And now he is subbing himself out bc he can't make a 55 yard throw.

I fuging hate Ron.

It is very easily the most frustrating thing in Panthers history. It's like McCarthy/Rodgers without the ring. I'm way younger than most of you, so if I'm wrong, let me know, but what could be more frustrating than this? Tell me.

Cam is not a perfect QB - I don't think you have to have attained the rank of Grand Wizard to acknowledge that - but he's easily good enough to have won a ring already and had at least 75% winning seasons if he wasn't under the thumb of Club Moron his whole career.

1.) Shoulder surgery, please. Not a doctor, but everyone with connections to the organization says this.
2.) Tepper, please shut down the circus and kick out the clowns.

Delhomme's fresh contract knowing he was likely done was bad, but that team was still winning and fighting

Prior, I feel like we could've gone to the playoffs with Steve B. but those teams were just a tic off and not super talented.

The potential success is near tangible but we just aren't finishing.  This whole org needs ti begin to learn how to finish.

This is easily the most frustrating ordeal.  We have a generational talent and give him a traditional/conformist/defensive minded old school coach who has made no adjustments for almost a decade.   Just puts on stupid T shirts and fakes a whole gambler style of coaching.

Beginning of the end for Rivera and Cam’s clock just started. He’s signed through 2020 and is a FA 2021. Rivera wasted him with Shula for 7 seasons. He deserved to get fired for that alone.

Well have a new coach next year to try one more time to rehab Cam. If it doesn’t work then he’s not our QB in 2021. He’ll go to Pittsburgh  when they move on from Ben, win a super bowl, and my nightmare will be complete.

Wasted him...some qbs never get to a super bowl.

    • I think it will be hard to not go edge in the second if we go QB first. Say you have Starks, one of Bond/Egbuka, and maybe one Edge (don't have a name to throw out that is end of 1st round projected and may slide)... do you still go Starks? Just curious. I haven't looked into starks much, as I've been focused on QB, WR, and DL prospects.
