Okay. I agree.

So...shall we proceed?

I don’t blame that loss on the coaches. But they are the top. Cam was absolutely atrocious out there. Not just his arm, but his reads.

All you buddy, that basically sealed our playoff fate this year unless we win out and everything goes our way.

Thirty five open roster spots with salary cap space available (potentially even more if you part ways with guys like Short, Poe and others) is plenty of available resource with somebody who knows what they're doing.

The important part, of course, is getting somebody who knows what they're doing.

Dumping Poe and Short will cost cap room. Sure you could designate as June 1 but you don't get the space until then. There will be nothing to replace them with by then. The options would be to bite the bullet and eat the hits now or mortgage into the future.

How many back to back winning seasons over that 5 year period Mr Scot?

As many as Hurney had with more than twice as many chances.

If we get into the playoffs, I don't give a s--t what our record is. That applies to this year too, but it doesn't look like we're going to get that lucky.

That's fine. As long as you are willing to subject the offense to another offensive coordinator and QB coach. Personally, I would like to continue down the path of staying the course with the Turners. The real question would be who the new DC and staff would be?

Think of it this way. Cam is very familiar and, apparently, likes working with Scott. Cam is also not getting any younger. Do you really want to chance wasting a year or two on a new system while Cam crosses 30?

Washington is a bad example of a successful in-house hire. He was simply the last one standing, not the one most qualified. There's a difference.

Oh, and your caps lock is stuck. Makes you look like a tool, but okay.

Do you think Cam is too stupid too learn a new system?

Hardly. But any new system is going to take time. He and Norv have apparently clicked, but it's still a work in progress. As he nears 30, I would be reluctant to try to push a new system on him. He's kind of a finished product now and we know his capabilities. I would rather leave well enough alone.
