I said before the season started that I considered this season to be the last year of the Richardson era more than I did the first year of the Tepper era. Didn't get a whole lot of agreement.

Some folks might have changed their minds about that since.

  When Tepper bought the team my first words were what would an interview for the GM position be like with Hurney and Tepper.

And that's the trick that I hope Tepper doesn't fall for when deciding to retain Rivera or not. Hopefully he has looked at the times when he's been on the hot seat or when the season's over and see that's the only time Rivera decides to coach. You don't want a head coach on your football team that decides to do his job only when his seat is hot or there's nothing left to play for.

Truly good coaches don't need to be motivated by the fear of losing their job.

 Wasn’t the part of the resume I was referring to, but it is quite telling. Getting Bobby Beathard coffee for most of a decade should impress though. Right up there with AM talk show host.

Good. I’d prefer an owner not be content with sub par performances. 

Hopefully, this resonates with Rivera and he pulls the reigns from his buddy Washington before he costs them both their jobs.
