It's a practice facility. It's not like they're going to have 70,000+ people attending the practices.

They plan on building apartments and other amenities around it from somewhere else I read.

My opinion is to cease all development around here and allow me to get around this town without sitting in standstill traffic for a good while

And maybe a stadium too.

Unlikely.  He will get a helluva deal from the city of clt to keep it downtown.  The mayor was in front of him bending at the knee the moment he got into town.  He holds all the cards and knows it.

The practice facility is going to make some big bucks in development and allow them to move some of the operations to SC where they will be subject to a lower tax bracket.

The Tep is playing all angles and maxing out every opportunity.

Charlotte's County council will screw the deal. They are good at that.

I really think they should buy the land for old knights stadium, its already clear and its not being used. funny thing is Graham Gano already lives in the fort mill area

That land (350 acres in total) is already set for redevelopment by Lincoln Harris (Johnny Harris' company) and owned by Harris and Cato Corp.  That said, that location absolutely makes the most sense.  Cato was land banking and selling to the Panthers would make them $$$$ and Panthers would get a highly visible site to build a practice facility along 77.  Lincoln Harris already has broke ground for a new HQ set to be built in there.

The Rock Hill Herald also has an article on this, and it mentions a few other hypotheticals that Mixon brought up.

Quote

About halfway through that audio, Mixon begins two minutes of “What if I told you?” rhetoric with possibilities from the Panthers creating a worldwide brand and having the team website translated into several languages, to Bank of America Stadium renovations, a roof on the stadium, a new stadium, redevelopment of the current practice site near the stadium and in-stadium betting.

As long as we're speculating, when the time comes for a new stadium (and that time will come) my money is on a dome (retractable of course) around the Carowinds area.

Hopefully 10+ more years and no domed turf stadium. Football is meant to be played on grass outside
