NFLPA looking into Eric Reid's allegation of excessive drug testing

Those piss tests aren't random, they're just like the Military. They have a "system" they go by. For instance, my bday is 420, I get "random" tested on 419.

Most organizations, companies, call it "random". They look for flags in their system to alert them, "hey this guy should get tested".

For Reid, it's obviously the grievance against the league, public slander the NFL took, and his snap count after a guy whose been out of the league. The NFL see he's not getting hurt, playing high % of snaps after missing the entire off season, preseason and some regular season.

They look for "reasons", along with "flags" in their "system" to drug test. It's bullshit.

I didnt know he got refunded on that zach ertz hit, he should have never been fined there for self defense.  It realy does feel like the league is targeting him and maybe the team as well.  I understand some of you dont like him for whatever reason, but every man has the right to work with fair treatment.

He would be a great SS that jumps into the box like Collins for the Giants. We just need a fast FS that has good ball skills out there with him. Adams with him is a terrible combo for coverage. If we draft or pick up a good FS and retain Reid I could see Gaulden/Elder (Gaulden playing the slot very well at UT) battling it out for the slot with Jackson and Bradberry on the outside. We also have Crockell coming back from injury who can play the slot and outside...

I double he'll be re-signed. He was a worthwhile attempted band-aid but IMO he hasn't been good enough to warrant his distraction. The guy is constantly complaining about something and honestly, Ron should've sent him to the locker room after he tried to start a fight with Malcolm Jenkins during the coin toss when he shouldn't have even been on the field. I don't care about a player's political views or personal beefs until they become an issue on game day. Reid's style of play at the safety position just isn't all that useful in today's NFL. He's a throwback old school head hunting safety playing in a league that has essentially banned that style of play.

What distractions have happened because of him? Other than the Jenkins situation has there been any?

If there's anything specific that you disagree with saca, feel free. Or you can silently passive aggressively poo on posts with nothing to add. Either way.

I’m just curious as to what other options are out there? You mention that box safeties are a dying breed, yet week in and week out, I’m consistently seeing Reid making TD saving tackles because of the absolute poor ass front 7 play. Old man Adams and Bradberry have been getting abused this year, not Reid and Jackson. (From my personal viewing).

I don’t blame Saca for poo’ing and moving on, despite fancifully dressing up your post attacking Reid’s ability to play and made it moreso about (shocker) his kneeling and “distractions” your post is no more enlightening or original than that Billy_T troll’s.

And yes, I’m willing to bet my account that Reid is resigned. Easily.

His play isn't useful until we start giving up 70 yard td runs.

“Derp Reid sucks and is only a box safety derrp”

- saves possible 30-40 yard TD scamper because Luke whiffs yet again on another tackle, or the front 7 is completely out of position.. AGAIN

Right now, there are no better options hence why we signed Reid. I expect and hope to see better options addressed in the off-season. I don't care a bit about the kneeling, but when you're starting fights during coin tosses when you're not even supposed to be on the field and seemingly bitching about some new injustice you perceive the NFL leveling on you, it gets old and it has to have some impact in the locker room.

So you believe his random drug testings at such a high frequency is a made up injustice? Reid had an injustice (the Ertz fine) that was reviewed and removed. I don’t blame him one bit for “bitching” (lol) about this. It has merit.

You honestly sound bitter, but that’s just my opinion.

It's not inconceivable that he's been chosen at random this many times. Highly unlikely, yes. But not inconceivable. The fine was levied, he appealed it, it was overturned. What's the problem? Virtually every fine and suspension levied by the NFL is appealed.

You honestly sound triggered, but that's just my opinion.
