Cam has elevated people.

Chud.  Shula.  Rivera.  Hell, even McD, Wilks, etc.  All those dudes were elevated because of Cam and have him to thank to a good degree the money they seen the past couple years.  No doubt about that.

Also, Cam has allowed an entire franchise to neglect a lot of offensive positions over the course of his career.  By being able to survive behind weak overall OLs.

Cam isn't the traditional leader however people seem to want.  And since he isn't that, he will always get bashed IMO.

Dumb. The only thing Cam has ever elevated is his own cock.

Over the past 2 years their conversion rate is identical.

In 2018 Butker has missed 1 FG.....Gano has missed 2.   However, Butker has only had to kick 1 over 49yds in 2018 and he missed it.  Gano has made 3-of-4 from 50yds+ and one of those was a world record 63yds.

In 2018 each has missed 3 extra points.

If Butker had been kicking for the Panthers this year they'd likely have a losing record of 5-6 instead of the current 6-5 record.

But what the heck, let's not let the facts get in the way of a good story.....

I believe you're bending those facts to fit your narrative.  Based on the very stats you've given me you've indicated that Gano misses shorter kicks.  Don't get me wrong...the ability to kick long field goals is great....but field goals are more often kicked under 47 yards. I'd rather have a guy that's automatic inside 47 yards then a guy who misses the easy ones.  From a situational perspective Gano has missed more important kicks.  He's cost us more games then he's won us.  Gano has literally missed kicked this team out of the playoffs.

Rivera has blamed the new coordinators.  He has pointed fingers at players.  He even suggested, as an afterthought, that it could be coaching. Ding! Ding! Ding!

That is Moose's point.

I met Capers, I met Fox.  Great guys who assumed 100% of the responsibility (even when Fox was made a lame duck by Richardson).  I met Rivera.  He was the least impressive.  In fact, I offered to shake his hand and he grunted, gave me a weak, "dead fish" handshake while looking away.  Maybe that means nothing to some folks, but in my world, you shake a man's hand firmly while looking him in the eye.  This may sound stupid, but I walked away unimpressed with our head coach.

You can mention the 15-1 season, but it was for naught because he got hammered in the Super Bowl, one in which he was favored to win.  He gets out coached routinely, even when we win.

I 100% believe you that Rivera is a dead fish handshaker. I mean his face looks like a dead fish when he's staring off into the abyss while the Panthers are getting curb stomped on national TV.

What's odd here is that so much of that is antithetical to what I know of people who grew up in military families.

it's even more out of character when you look back at the guy who introduced himself eight years ago. I really wanted that guy to be our head coach. I still do. I just don't know where he went.

13 or 14 yards, an interesting theme, similar to the time CJ was 6-yards away & wide open with a 7-yd cushion from the closest defender and he was thrown a 100mph fast-ball at the top of his helmet folks can't comprehend why it wasn't caught....

....nuance, lost on so many.

Maybe if they played CJ during preseason he would have been use to how Cam throws the ball. I wasn' mad at CJ bc he really hasn' had many snaps with Cam. Practice is still needed even if you r a vet. I blame the coaching staff.

The same coach that preached staying aggressive and stepping on the throat of opponents to finish out games?

It is almost like that same head coach harped on his staff being stocked with teachers in order to better develop the young players.

Though in 2012 he did show us the tendency to not play younger players unless the season is lost or an injury has occurred...

Ugh

It's the truth, and if you've ever listened to Rivera mic'd up you'd know it. I've never heard him get angry at a player, he always has the "we'll get em next time" mentality. I'm sure that's why he's known as a player favorite, but as a fan it's infuriating.
