Unpopular opinion : We are overusing Mccaffrey and it’s not good for the offense

Name one game where he out coached the  opposition  ? where we it looked like we were playing chess and the other team was playing checkers.

I’m sure there’s 2 or 3 games that stand out. But over 8 years of coaching ?  I’ve seen a lot of heroics by Cam and Luke that won games despite of Ron. There’s a reason Cam has so many comeback wins in the 4th quarter.

How about the majority of the 2013 season? When we had the 2nd ranked D and the offense was average at best.

For this year I'd say the Baltimore and Dallas games the coaching staff had a great game plan.

Futhermore their are very few games in general where one coach clearly outcoaches another. Even as bad as Ron was yesterday, he was bad independent of the other team, I certainly didnt get the feeling that Caroll outcoached him, unless Russell Wilson running around for ten seconds and launching a bomb was how they drew it up.

Now I need a shower, feel dirty defending Ron.

Again, you're making the mistake a lot of people have since he was drafted, comparing him to anyone else. Christian McCaffrey is a unicorn, one of a kind, a genetic freak with the pedigree of a professional athlete. He's been training and preparing his body for this kind of workload since he could first carry a football. I guarantee you, every snap the defense sees him on the sidelines is one where they breathe a sigh of relief.

THIS!  People are dumb as a box of rocks if they think this man can’t take the hits. The dude is in unreal shape and an incredible athletic. Not worried about him in the least bit.

It’s going to be a sad day when this kid does get hurt. Will probably be a few seasons down the road and so many people here will say “See, told you!!!”  Almost as if they are happy to see the kid get hurt so they can scream from the rooftops on how right they were the whole time. Well....so far you have been wrong.  Get over it. Dudes a freak.

College doesn’t not equal pros

Darren Sproles was a workhorse in college,  Deangelo Williams was the ultimate workhorse in Memphis , they still got injured. Unless we are doing the Preist Holmes strategy of use him up for 3 or 4 seasons then throw him away.

Williams got injured because he got fat and complacent.

What does that have to do with them using or not using Armah? We used the younger guys a lot yesterday.  We have been using some of them a lot all year.  Mainly CMC, but Moore's snaps were increasing even before the injuries.

There was a lot to complain about yesterday, not using the young guys wasn't one of them.

Not using guys like Armah in the red zone yesterday is a justifiable complaint as we scored exactly 3 points and a turnover in our first 3 trips to there. There’s a direct connotation to my initial thought so you can harp on other things all you want like Gano missing a FG but that’s not ultimately what cost us the game. Faultering in the red zone was, however.

Sure Moore and Samuel have been much more involved than Armah but when you compare their opportunities to guys like Torrey and Funchess it is laughable that it has taken this long for them to figure out how explosive and dynamic each of them can be.

Ah yes Mccaffrey, the first indestructible player to step on a football field. We will see how he well this theory of yours holds up when Norv keep smashing him up the middle

Armah has had, to my knowledge, exactly one red zone opportunity and he banged it in the end zone. Not sure why is organization is so hesitant to use their young weapons but it’s frustrating to say the least.

No question that CMC is special.  I hate to be this brutally honest, but I don't think the NFL plans to get more than 4-5 years out of a RB in today's NFL and they've started drafting guys and running the heck out of them and if they get injured, they'll go draft a replacement.  The rookie cap makes all of this more plausible.

I'm certainly not condoning or agreeing with the above nor do I think it is smart . . . but this appears to be the trend in the NFL.
