Love me some Thomas Davis, but what's happened to our Defense since his return?

The problem with the defense is three fold. We can no longer consistently stop the run. Every game we will have a series or two where we miss tackles or give up a gash play on the ground. Second, we can't apply enough pressure with our front 4. Next, Captain Munnerlyn is a horrible football player. QBs regularly look his way on passing downs. He is either playing 8 yards off or a step behind his man. If he is still our nickle CB next season, team is not serious about winning. Finally, Mike Adams is 38 years old and doesn't have the speed anymore to change directions or close down a play.

Not TD's fault that the dline gets zero pass rush and Cap can't cover anybody.

The defense also didn't look any better before TD. The Cowboys were just god awful on offense week 1, Atlanta and Cinci pretty much had their way with our defense (outside of Dalton's INTs), and the anemic Giants offense had their way also. TD has, IMO, probably been our best player besides Action Jackson on defense this season. Not sure that is saying much though with how pitiful our defense is...

Defense fell apart when we signed Reid. He was an absolute upgrade over what we have however that move was a middle finger to the league and they won’t stand for it. 

Our defense hasn’t benefited from an offensive holding call in weeks. 

Couple that with the fact that we are old and poorly coached and you’ve got this pile of poo you are witnessing now.

They sucked before he came back, they suck after he came back. They need more then a 38 year old LB to fix this train wreck

The league is punishing the panthers for signing Reid. Results no holding penalties on opponents. Replays were showed where KK and Love were being held. All game like when the announcers were talkin about the remarkable play of Wilson they had a pause when the hold was displayed and cut away from it to keep them from mentioning it. It's so clear that we are being bullied by the league. Alion random drug test dont happen to 1 player out of 52 players on a team or even 8. Every game since he has played he has been drug tested.  Lol no way we going anywhere anytime soon.

poopity poop. The whole defense is crap right now. Even Luke coming back to life can't kelp this sinking ship. The defense is old, and has a DC that's is clearly out of his league.

I think it's more underperforming players than talent. More or less Ron has ran his course and we need a coach who can motivate players. Either way next year will be rebuild mode.
