The Panthers have started 6-4 twice before, with wildly different results.

If I had to bet money, I'd probably bet on 9-7. Not sure if that would get us a playoff berth or not.

I dont think 9-7 will get us in the playoffs, but I think thats the magic number to get Rivera fired.  9-7 mean a 3-5 second half record, which is unacceptable when you go 6-2 the first half of the season.

I don’t see much point in comparing teams from years past to get an idea of where the panthers will end up this year.

Every game game is tough and I really believe it’s a 50/50 chance every game. Any team in the league can be beaten, and any team can pull a “unexpected” win. I’ve come to expect the unexpected and just enjoy the ride. Reading stories like what Cam did for thanksgiving is the stuff that really matters because at the end of the day football is just a game and real life is what the players do outside of football.

this week is key to rest of season...win and we are right there...lose and its over

Yup. Playoff chances go from the mid 70s with a win to the low 20s with a loss. The season is truly on the line this Sunday.

I am thinking 9-7 or 8-8 pending the Atlanta game.  I expect to lost both NO games so we are basically 6-6.  Beating Seattle at home and then dropping one to either TB or Cle on the road is Rivera in a nutshell, particularly this year with our home/road splits.

9-7 very well could be enough for a postseason berth though if we win tomorrow.  A GB victory on Sunday would be very helpful as then both them and the Vikes would have 5.5 losses and we would have tiebreaks over Dallas, Philly, and Seattle at that point.  The only team at that point that would top us with seven losses would be Washington who could still win the division or easily collapse with McCoy running the show.
