Can we break another trend?......

Minus Chris Chandler. Add Kyle Orton, Brad Johnson, Rob Johnson, Joey Harrington and Tony Romo.

Are you talking about Kyle Orton, the starter in Denver, who was the starter in Chicago before that, who started 15 games as a rookie in 2005 after Grossman went down in the preseason, and who later won the job from Grossman legitimately? Because if that's the guy, you're not gaining much to your argument. Especially when the Panthers only scored three points in that game--I don't think Orton beat us that day.

Brad Johnson did, in fact, beat us in Minnesota in 2006, but he was the day one starter. You might be confused there because we beat them the year before when we almost ended Daunte Culpepper's career--he took over the club and kept the job in 2006. He was also the starter for years in Tampa Bay. Sorry, you have to throw him out.

Rob Johnson beat us in 2002 as a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. We scored 9 points, he led them to a whopping 12. That's not exactly someone I would hold up as an example of a backup QB who beat the Panthers. they scored 4 field goals to our three.

Joey Harrington did beat us in Atlanta in 2007, I have to give you that one. But we beat him as well in the same season, with Vinny under center.

Tony Romo was the Dallas starter, not a backup. He replaced Drew Bledsoe after Bledsoe lost to the Giants. That's not a backup quarterback, particularly given the fact that he's started every game since.

Look, I know you hate the Panthers. I know you want to see them fire Fox, cut Jake, shoot Godfrey, and put you in charge. I know you think you are some sort of football genius. But I'm sorry, you're not. You're just another dumbass on a message board who thinks he has a good point but lacks the sense to back away when it's exposed as mere trope.

Go get drunk with Gman or something, you don't need to be here posting stupid stuff right now. After all, your worst nightmare is about to come true--the Panthers will hit .500 tomorrow.

Ok, let's dial up the time-machine and do a little checking for revisionist hatestry. Because I would hate to give a guy credit for beating the Panthers when he didn't.

Gus Frerotte, 2005, Frerotte sucked out loud. We lost because Ronnie Brown went wild on the ground.

Tony Banks, 2003, We lost because we only scored 10 points, Banks threw for something like 150 yards and Houston ran well.

Alex Van Pelt, 2001, we lost because of a late pick-six.

Chris Chandler, 2002, we won that game. Sorry you chose a bad example. We had lost to him as QB when he was Atlanta's starter, that may be your cause for confusion.

The only backup QB I can think of that BEAT the Panthers is Jeff Garcia, and he's anything but a career backup.

Last year we beat up on Daunte Culpepper and Tyler Thigpen, the year before we beat Luke McCown and Tim Rattay. In two years I was able to produce four backups that we faced and won against, and you went back to 2001 and couldn't do that.

The Panthers aren't vulnerable to backup quarterbacks anywhere outside of your fevered imagination.

you forgot about frerotte last year.

:rofl::rofl::rofl:You're right its just in our heads.

It doesnt matter how good or bad the backup played. The fact is the panthers always have the tendency to lose to them and today was no different. Its just part of life. Death, paying taxes, and the qbs losing to backup qbs.

Oh yeah, and Gus Ferrotte was the qb last year. Jackson was benched for our game but Gus was not the starter going into the year.

Cyberjag put up more evidence than you did. You are just saying "lol whatever, i know for a fact the panhters suck at back-up qbs." Sorry, not going to work. Backup Fizpatrick didnt win this game for the Bills, instead backup Delhomme did. Fizpatrick got the hell beat out of him. He completed a few passes but even Delhomme of this year can do that.

Gman was right is now wrong. :beatdeadhorse5:

Yes, cyberjag showed lots of evidence. Evidence which proved me right. The panthers always lose to backup QBs. Its just a fact son! Fizpatrick could have thrown 18 INTs and the bills still would have won. Backups own the panthers! Its sad but true.

Gman is always right! You're beating a dead horse. :beatdeadhorse5:

    • BPA! If that happens to be D-line, sobeit. FA has to figure in somewhere as well.
    • Chinn’s current stats are in line with his stats with Panthers before Evero arrived, and yes he regressed from his rookie year where he looked like a game changer. He is not putting up drastically different numbers now he just looks better on a winning team. We were all disappointed with his development even prior to Evero but he was definitely a misfit in the 3-4 defense.
