Is this what we want the NFL to be?

This is the type of football the NFL wants and they've been altering the rules for a decade or more to get there. This is the type of football that the casual fan wants to see. No, it isn't the type of football I want to see. Sure, the occasional shootout is fun, but I played defense. I love defense. If defense becomes irrelevant outside of the occasional splash play I'm not sure I'll remain an NFL fan long-term.

I consider myself as a college football fan now.

Millennials with a 10 second attention span on the Huddle identified. I get it, some people need to see a TD every third play to stay engaged.

I'm 36.

Hate to break it to ya but you're a Millennial.

The technical start date for Millennials is 1981 so I would assume that is the majority of this message board.

People now confuse millennials with gen Z which is the generation born after 1995.

Fans of any sport want to see competition and skill. It doesn’t matter what side of the ball has the skill. They want to see balance. If scoring is too easy it will become boring.

Soccer is the most popular sport in the world and scoring is rare in that sport.

Pitching shut outs killed baseball. No defense hurt the NBA. The NFL will have the same problem if defenses or neutered.

We’ll see if they fix this in the off season. If they don’t, and this is the new normal, Cam will never win an SB and only the few teams with top 5 QBs will have a shot every year.

As it stands today, you can’t win in this league unless you have a pin point accurate gun slinging QB. That will never be Cam.

I was born in 1981, and there is a vast vast difference between those of us born in the early 80s and those of us born in 1995. Like night and day. I don’t really feel like a millennial...
