What is the problem with our offense?

Coming off this game where Cam was over 300 yds passing and td/int of 3/1; what in your mind is the issue with this offense.

I'm seeing two issues that cost us this and the previous game with the Steelers. First, the time the offensive line is giving Cam on third down. Injuries have decimated our line this year and it shows up specifically on third down, maybe someone else can expound on this point. Second, drops by the wr on the offense (funchess). Cam has been very accurate on many throws that were dropped and cost us drives. Though he does throw up the occasional headscratcher with the bad oline play and has difficulty finding his drop down option in CMC.

curtis samuel not being on the field enough is a big problem.. insisting on running CMC every single time is a mistake.

We probably don’t run him enough since he averages 4.6 but gets 13 carries per game compared to close to 20 for guys like Elliot and gurley. We start giving him carries at first and though he has success we go away from the running game

Funchess killed our drives. It’s hard to win when your supposed number 1 drops 5 passes. Take him off the field and give opportunities to guys who can make plays.

I don't recall, but were his drops mostly 2nd or 3rd down plays? Those can seriously throw off the possession.

Tempo

Let Cam run the offense the way he wants, the tempo he wants. We also struggle coming out of half-time, I don't know why. We suck in the 3rd, come alive in the 4th

Then you got personnel, more Moore and Samuel. Any reason why Ian Thomas can't get any snaps?

I agree. Whenever we play with up tempo we basically dominate on offense. We also seem to run the ball very well in our up tempo offense.

I think if Tyreek Hill were on this team, Ron would have him as the 5th option.   All of this crap about X, Y, Z receivers doesn't matter, you figure out a way to get your playmakers on the field.   Moore / Samuel / Wright, it isn't hard to figure out who the 3 best receivers this year have been.

Yep.

First half of the season you find out who you can count on and the rest of the season you lean on the ones you can count on.

Imo, the guys with a catch % over 70% are the ones who have proven reliable. That would be CMC, DJ, Samuel, Wright, and Olsen. Right there is plenty of targets who can be counted on. Trying to make Funchess out to be a #1 is a mistake and that option needs to be taken off the field and his snaps given to Samuel so Cam can focus on guys who make things happen.
