Ron was right. This is what you cried for.

After watching the Carolina and Detroit game end like it did. I was in awe how we over came Devin Funches off day by dropping a TD, and 3 other catches that would have been first downs. Detroit player stepped out of bounds on a play that should of killed the drive. Cam Newton had 357 Passing yards and 3 TDs.  The defense missed 9 tackles Sunday. Gram Gano was also drinking the same kool-aid as Devin Funches for he cost the team 4 total points. With that being said Ron knew all of this and he decided to no longer be a "coward" and play for overtime. Many of you guys here complain about Ron after every loss and even most wins and you wanted him to have more "balls" as you call it. Well here he is! He wanted to win the game by any means. A Bill B type call. Maybe you rather play for overtime and hope Detroit makes a mistake against your struggling defense.  Overall I like the call I believe we will take care of the Seashawks this Sunday.  The team knows Ron means business. Also Cam I can not blame you for you balled out and misfires happen. However this is what you been screaming for. Live with it and get behind your team. Stop acting like spoiled brats after EVERY single game. RIOT  MF RIOT

100% agree. I'll take the odds of Cam, CMC, Olsen, and DJ Moore at the 2 yard line over trying to win in OT (which we would surely need a TD with how Gano was kicking). If they get a FG with the minute left in regulation, so be it. Wouldn't have mattered whether it was an XP or 2 pts.

I had no issues with going for two. I didn’t like the playcall. For years, it seems that every time we’re in a similar situation we have some dumb pass play with the whole field congested to 10 or 12 yards (including end zone) when there should have at least been a run option on the play.  We always go for the lower percentage plays with no room to spare and then run it up the middle on 2nd and 2 when we should be taking shots then.  That is proof enough to tell me that Ron is lying when he says he doesn’t meddle in the offense.  Shula was 100% inept as a play caller and in general the playcalling is much better now with Norv, but there are certain moments you can see Ron’s influence on the offense.

I liked the call. No qualms about it.

I just hate the fact he refuses to give Curtis Samuel significant snaps and chooses to throw players under the bus instead of evaluating himself.

I don’t think he has much to do with who on offense plays. Yes he speaks to the media about it but I think Norv has 100% control of the offense including snap counts. Not sure why Norv isn’t playing Samuel though.

SOme of you are incapable of grasping the simplest concepts it’s kind of mind blowing.

We don’t want Rivera to have “bigger balls” and to “go for it” more. We want him to make smart fuging decisions....

And you believe sending a kicker out, who has already missed twice is a smart decision?

I get it and we would all love to see #10 get more snaps. (I believe he will)

I just wonder how much Ron is “refusing” his snaps and how much is dictated by Norv’s gameplan?

He hasn't changed. At least not intentionally. Ron Rivera displayed himself to be the same scared coach he always has been by deciding to punt on the previous offensive drive late in the 4th quarter on 4th and a few yards. Wasted opportunities were self inflicted from the staff as well as some players. That much is certain. What is also certain is that Rivera still can't resist but to stick to his ultra conservative approach to game management until it's too late. The 2 point conversion call was just Ron panicking after his usual play it safe antics backfired yet again.

This 100%.

my statement applies to a whole lot more than just this one decision. but to answer your question yes i would have kicked it. i've never been gano's biggest fan but you have to have some confidence in you kicker and he did hit a 63 yard game winner a couple weeks ago.

Cam should have run it in on the final play the lane was there.  Ron is too soft and sentimental that's his main flaw.

he is stuck in old school football style of coaching.. overly loyal to players and coaches who don't warrant such loyalty.
