People were calling on us to offer him a big extension not long ago.

Someone recently compared him to Charles Godfrey (i.e. a couple of "Sportscenter" moments but overall really only average).  That comparison is starting to look more accurate than I wish it were.

Valid, and if we're being honest this is probably one of the reasons he's here. That's exactly the type of safety that Ron Rivera prefers.

How so? I’m not sure this was Ron forced play. I see it as more tepper/hurn.

Per their own explanation of events, Rivera and Hurney were the ones who decided to pursue Reid. Tepper was only asked to sign off.

Now you can apply a "that's their story and they're sticking to it' label on this if you want, but first ask yourself this question: When has David Tepper been shy about discussing things? If he had a bigger role in this, why would he hide it?

The process they described is pretty standard for most NFL teams. There's really no reason not to believe it.

Just so you all know, both Eric Reid and Luke Kuechly are awful.  Kuechly is worse though.  He's legit the worst player on this defense right now (outside of Munnerlyn... MAYBE).  I can't tell what in the bloody hell is going on with him, but he looks like a fuggin clown out there.  Horrible.

    In today's NFL, if you hold a team to 20 points, you give yourself a chance to win. The D did their job.

The missing piece(s) is/are obviously the D-line. Nobody said he was the missing piece. He was a needed upgrade over Searcy and Jones.

If you believe safety was the missing piece for this defense then clearly you weren’t paying attention to the state of affairs of the DL since Hardy got booted and CJ’s leg whip.
