There is no individual player on defense that is at fault other than maybe the defensive ends.

The fact of the matter is, when you see this much regression among individual defensive players, it is quite obviously defensive coaching/scheme at fault.  Eric Washington is just terrible.  Kuechly hasn't played well, but I trust his All-Pro film from the second half of 2012-2017 over whatever he's been doing this year.  Washington blitzes him too much and it feels like he has to over-think more than usual because the scheme is trash.  His blitzes are elementary, it's easy to tell who is dropping and coming from the TV.  I went to the Dallas game this year and it was easy as hell to figure out what coverage they were going to run, imagine how a QB sees them.  It is why you see so many quick hitters against us.  And when you can't get an edge rush?  Yeah.

We lucked out the Lions suck on offense or else they would have ripped us more.

Coaching might be and probably is an issue.  But its not the only issue.  Our defense is getting old.  Adams, Peppers, and Davis are key elements, but are likely to be retired next year.  Poe and Short seem to be getting pushed aside.  Lots of whiffs on tackles by our safeties and linebackers.  IMO, we need an infusion of youth, especially at safety, linebacker, and DE.

Moral of this thread based on the responses... “white guy bad.”

Luke is the best player in the history of this franchise, hands down.  

Let’s also take a shot at Colin Jones for good measure... you know, because someone made an observation about Reid not being anywhere near what we all hoped he’d be.

I refuse to believe this forum is representative of the larger Panther fan base... because if so, we f’ing suck.  I mean we suck Tampa bad.
