True

But how many times over the last few years have we saidthe same thing about Funchess, the dude is afraid to fight for balls.

And he cant catch period.  He is essentially Brandon LaFail.  But its time to let Samuel get some PT

I don't disagree that we should use Samuel over Funch, but just because we've had tons of other receivers do the same thing doesn't mean we should be content with guys doing poo like that. Matt Ryan earlier threw what looked like a wide open easy pick and then his receiver came in full speed and decked the guy to make it incomplete. Samuel had his hands on the ball. It's one thing to not catch it but to let the DB come away with it...? Come on man.

Samuel is a running back that can catch pretty good, not a true wide receiver. He could basically trade carries with CMac on a lot of plays.

we still need a true downfield threat.

The future is DJ Moore paired with an unnamed downfield guy like a TY Hilton type.

It’s just what he is. Why anyone thought he is downfield threat like a Ted Ginn or Torrey Smith in his yesteryear was just in denial.

thats not bashing him, he’s great at what he is. The plays where he’s treated as such he makes huge scores— and like a catching running back he can still make some really good catches. He’s just not an over the shoulder catcher,.. not a true wide receiver.
