Being honest. What are your Best Case, and Worst Case?

Worst case is any scenario where we don't make the playoffs. I don't care if we finish 9-7 or 11-5 as long as we sneak in. Either one of those records could get us in (9-7 unlikely, but still mathematically possible) or leave us out of playoffs (i.e. Matt Cassle 11-5 Patriots)

Best case is obviously that we win out. We control our own destiny in regards to the division title and a first round bye and that's all we can ask for.

So LET'S KEEP POUNDING

I think if you look at our schedule and how this team tends to finish strong in the Rivera/Cam era, we probably have 3 more losses at most. That would leave us at 10-6, and a probable wild card berth given the garbage that is the rest of the NFC outside of NO and LA. Honestly, this wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. Gives us a chance to pick up a road playoff win against whatever poo team wins the East or North, then head into NO or LA with some momentum.

Obviously our best case would be 13-3 and winning the division, but that's not really likely at this point. Realistically, we lose one more @NO to finish 12-4, which would probably still be a Wild Card. At this point, we're basically locked in to the 5th or 6th seed.

I said before last year’s draft that I was hoping we wouldn’t take a DE as there was nobody who would really help us in 2018 even at our 1st round pick and there wasn’t. Once the Clemson 3 went back to school, the 2019 DE draft (4-3, especially) looks so much better. I’d be happy going DE in the first and I’d have no issue moving up to make sure we get our guy. Heck, I’d be fine sacrificing 2020 capital along with the extra 3rd for Norwell.

I usually am averse to giving away future resources. But man, if there is a DE that we absolutely have to have. Then I say screw it. Go for it.

Then again, it scares me giving away future resources on a Rookie who has never seen the field.

Glad I don't have to make that call. It would paralyse me with fear of making the wrong call.

My worst case is us being one and done in the playoffs.

If I'm being completely honest, that's probably also my best case, though I could see a possibility of us winning a Wild Card game, I suppose (would depend a lot on who the opponent is).

There ya go. That's the spirit. ha Baby steps.

Best Case: we win the next 4 games convincingly into the MNF showdown vs the Saints. Cam is 5-1 all time on MNF, 3-0 at home on MNF. Saints stumble and lose another game setting up a Week 17 matchup for the division, which we squeak out in the Dome. Set up with a bye week and at least HFA until the conference championship, we have a decent shot to make the Super Bowl again.

Worst Case: Team comes out flat and falls behind early in Detroit, we lose at least 2 of the next 4, and lose twice to the Saints in Weeks 15-17. At 9-7 we either barely miss out on the playoffs or grab the #6 seed, facing road games all the way through the playoffs, we are either bounced in the WC game or against the #1 seed Saints.

Best case scenario I believe for us is to get hot in the playoffs and get to the NFC championship.

Best case after that is the Steelers up and hulk smash the AFC and make it and we take revenge,..

worst case for me is that happens and the Steelers blow us up again.

Best case scenario: We get hot and find a pass rush. The O-line reverts to early season form and protect Cam. We roll into MNF 10-3 and destroy New Orleans. From there, we win out, beating NO week 17 at the buzzer to get the #2 seed and a bye. We catch a break and face Washington in the divisional round for an easy win, while NO takes care of Chicago and LA, setting up an all-NFCS rematch for a trip to the Super Bowl. Peppers records 3 sacks in a back and forth game and Donte Jackson, the DROY, takes one back. We win by 10 and extract revenge on New Orleans. Meanwhile, the AFC completely collapses into utter chaos and somehow the Tennessee Titans win the conference by beating the Chiefs and we make Mariota look terrible on the way to a 55-17 victory. Afterwards, Cam is named MVP of the game and his last TD celebration is a re-enactment of the fumble against Denver a few years ago.

Worst Case: We go into MNF 9-4 (stumbling to Seattle) and get demolished by NO. We finish 10-6 due to NO resting starters week 17, but lose out on a tiebreaker for the last playoff spot with Seattle. Rivera proceeds to blame execution as to why we didn't get into the playoffs, and David Tepper realizes the stadium looks better with the shield at midfield, having the grounds crew replace the Panther with the NFL shield, fashioned in the shape of the Steeler logo. Half the team retires, and Hurney drafts a QB in the first round.
