Would you be satisfied and consider the season a success if the Panthers made the playoffs and were one and done?

Winning season and playoffs are the goal but the true objective should be winning it all. Can't completely be satisfied without that, but there are several seasons we've had in our history (1996, 2003, 2005, 2014, 2015, 2017) where you could say, "yeah we did about all we could that year. Maybe more" and I'm including 2015 because even though we unquestionably should've won the super bowl, it was still a hell of a year.

10-6 or 9-7 and the playoffs would be good for me. While some downplay it, getting the back to back winning season thing would be, by definition, a historic achievement.

At this point, I just want to beat Detroit and see what happens against Seattle (the third or fourth team we get after they had a 10 day layoff).

I'd be happy. Us long time fans follow the team because we love the team. We have learned over the years (now approaching a generation) that for the most part we have sucked. RR gets too much hate around here, as we have won more under him than any in franchise history. People used to cry about not  having back to back wining seasons! 

Playoffs the last 4 of 5 is pretty damn good to me. We are not a high market team..and never will be. I am a fan and pretty happy we win some games and more or less are not the Browns! If you think not winning is bad now...just wait until Cams contract is up for renewal! It will be 2009 all over again!

But....we are ready to win!!! Tepper is the man and everything is gonna change!!!

I remember before the season started how people would be satisfied if we ended the “Curse” this year and had a winning record.

Nah, because unless things change dramatically, our likelist first round game will be as the Wild Card @ the winner of the NFC North or East. Meaning we'd have lost to an inferior team. If we somehow end up playing @NO again and lose close, while of course I'll be disappointed , it'll have been a good season overall.

HOWEVER, no one on this board has even mentioned throughout the entire season that we are on the cusp of eliminating the back to back winning season curse.

...this team is so up and down.... we can beat anybody on any given Sunday...everything has to align just right with stars, moon and sun....we have to concentrate on the Lions..one game at a time....Dfence is such a worry.

One and done is what we look like, but what I want is a red hot streak where we win the SB. It can happen, but we look very one and done.

    I just don't agree with this. We very well could wind up the #5 seed. Which means we would play the #4 seed. Which would come from the North, or the East. Not sure I am afraid of anyone in those Divisions.

 

    So, IMO, we are good enough to get to the Divisional Round. And with luck, who knows how far we can go. All we need is for our D, to step it up a notch or two.
