It's funny how some people choose when to trust Rivera's player judgement. Colin Jones over Gaulden is no surprise.

Just like it’s funny you want to wait on Hurney picks to develop and make every excuse possible for them. Then turn around and call Gettleman picks a bust in Preseason if you wait that long. Address that issue. Or move on. It’s not a big deal. The whole board knows your Hurney schtick.

Whatever makes him wonderful in your eyes....please do it.

Are there people on here who actually think it was a mistake to trade Kelvin?

Actually. No. And I’ve said so many times. I’m just having fun. He is truly a waste.

But it would have been nice to have a decent NFL quality receiver against NO and ATL. And wasting the pick(at this moment) doesn’t help.

And with all that I’m still glad he’s gone. Of course, if Beane doesn’t call him at the last minute with the offer, it wouldn’t have happened. Wasn’t like Marty was shopping him. But just saying yes is sometimes the best move.

Honestly, my favorite part of the trade was getting out of the 5th year option before he screwed up his knee again and we HAD to pay him 10M this year. KB had already went down a couple times where I thought he tore something. Didn’t think he would last the year.

That "NFL quality receiver" you are referring to has been abysmal in Buffalo. I don't think Benjamin even managed to log any receiving yards in the recent blowout win by the Bills. You aren't remotely going to win this one man. Take the L, and move on.

I've never called a Gettleman's selection a bust during their first season. That's just plain stupid. You've got the wrong fellow, buddy.

28 pages.  I have not read them all, but I would like to add or reiterate that there are probably other factors  at work:

  • Anderson, seeing the writing on the wall here, asked to be waived.
  • Anderson's ego proved to be a negative in the locker room and at practice.  He has  a case, but to take the ball out of CMC's hands to keep Anderson happy makes no sense.

That is about all I  have.

- He didn't.

- That doesn't fit Anderson's character at all.

The team has made an official statement that amounted to "We don't need him because we have McCaffrey."

Carolina isn't going to come out and blame the player. PR 101.

Ron Rivera blames players for losing games in every single presser.

More importantly though, this is a move that makes our roster worse. I'd need a better reason then anything that's been suggested right now.

Hyperbole much? Official statements are well calculated, unlike postgame pressers.

Team chemistry is a good enough reason.

Who knows if there's any truth to this talk about him being disgruntled with playing time or his social media causing issues.

All I know is what I saw with my own eyes. Anderson had a few gaffes, but really those looked more likely attributed to a lack of chemistry or rapport with Cam which only could have been solved by actually getting him out there more.

Look I like me some CMC as well, and I'm very happy to see him dominating. But just like Cam, he is human as well. These guys can only carry the load for so long. Besides, the goal should be to do everything we can to insure our QB is unlikely to have to step in and anchor the run game. There is no addition by subtraction here. Not when our offense has been inconsistent. I really hope this other guy we signed can step up. I have nothing against Artis-Payne, but I feel like we've given him enough time. If he can't make plays then stop wasting a roster spot on him.

So in your mind, a player being a potential distraction is a good reason to let him go?

We don't know what happened behind the scenes. All we know is that he was frustrated because of a lack of play time. This type of move in uncharacteristic in Carolina.

That's not a good enough reason to make your roster worse with no discernible benefit.

We dumped good depth and gained nothing in the process. That's a stupid thing to do.
