Now you talking about a different issue. If CJ wanted out, there is no issue. I would understand from both sides why they moved on. And said so in this thread. We are going by him and others saying he didn’t force a move. That changes everything.

Just because he didn't force a move doesn't mean he wasn't a negative locker room presence. Negativity has an effect on team chemistry.

That is what I would consider forcing a move. By being a negative presence. But there hasn’t been one legit statement saying he was. To this point. We can only go by what we know.

There hasn't been one that said he wasn't. Y'all really think Rivera, Hurney and Norv are idiots. It's obvious that he wasn't happy with role.

Well...maybe not two of them...lol.

There has been many reports that they just let him go. Including your hero.

When we signed C.J. in the spring he saw a bigger role than he has had, and honestly, at the time so did we," general manager Marty Hurney said. "But Christian McCaffrey has taken so much of the offense and so much of the plays, we just made the decision that this was the best thing for all parties involved."

Anderson said he didn’t ask for release. And if anyone had a right to, he did. You getting rid of every player who wants to play more. Just to be nice?

We got worse for more money. It’s like going back in time.

You think Hurney would release a player like CJ Anderson without influence from Rivera/Norv?

Carolina/Hurney isn't going to blast a newly released player. That isn't the Carolina way. When Benjamin was traded Carolina said it's because we wanted to get faster. True but it later came out that he wasn't happy in Carolina.

No. And once again, if you bothered to read a little bit, I’ve made that exact point already.

And something like that may come out. It was my first reaction. That no one could be this stupid. But until it does, they are.

Yep. We traded KB because he was unhappy and wound up with horrible WR group to end the season. Because surely two players who were hurt already wouldn’t get hurt again. But hey, we got a Safety that can’t seem to play Safety out of it. Hooray!

You believe what you want to believe.

No one except for you and a couple posters think it was a bad trade. Our offense began to suck with him starting. I remember his poor route running caused a pick in consecutive games. We wouldn't have made the playoffs with Benjamin. It was the right move.

Really? Let’s not pretend we didn’t have a winning record with him. But you can make a statement of fact that can’t possibly be proven. I’m glad he’s gone but we got nothing for it so far, and it definitely hurt us(if not cost us) the playoff game.

I’m not going back and forth with you again. So you can prop your hero. I don’t care and it’s way too easy. Just move on. This never ends well for you.

It was addition by subtraction. Looks like you've forgotten the Eagles and Bears games. Our offense with Benjamin was putrid. We became explosive after he left until some unfortunate injuries.

We got Gaulden. Not many 3rd round safeties are starters in their first year. How about we wait? Even if he fails I still wouldn't be mad about the trade. It's like for like as they come.

I seem to remember the NE game. Or the 99 yds against Philly. Or sealing the DET game. And being on pace for 950 yds for the season when traded. So it wasn’t all bad. I remember playing ATL for the division and NO in playoffs with a hurt Funchess, Clay, Bersin, Shepard, Frazier. That was an impressive ending to the season.

All for a wasted 3rd. Who couldn’t play over Colin Jones. And you would give him 10 years if it meant giving credit to Hurney. You sure didn’t seem to want to give any DG picks time to develop. Shall we go back and look at a few of your abrupt evaluations when they don’t involve Marty? And how quickly they came out during their first seasons. I will gladly post them if you want to dispute any of this.

28 pages.  I have not read them all, but I would like to add or reiterate that there are probably other factors  at work:

  • Anderson, seeing the writing on the wall here, asked to be waived.
  • Anderson's ego proved to be a negative in the locker room and at practice.  He has  a case, but to take the ball out of CMC's hands to keep Anderson happy makes no sense.

That is about all I  have.

It's funny how some people choose when to trust Rivera's player judgement. Colin Jones over Gaulden is no surprise.
