Why is everyone so upset?

As I've been told by a large majority of the crowd that is now bitching and moaning, "Well, the coaches see him in practice every day and they've decided not to use him because of REASONS!  DO YOU THINK THE COACHES ARE DUMB?"

Why in the world wouldn't that same rationale not apply now, bitchers and moaners?

(P.S. And, by the way, I think that it is RIDICULOUSLY STUPID to cut a reasonably low-salaried, back-up RB at this point in the season.  If he makes it through waivers, the Panther's are paying that entire salary anyway.  But I've been assured that Rivera and Hurney are a pair of football GENIUSES, so you bitchers and moaners should calm the hell down and go with that.)

Our friend Roaring Riot has confirmed that he did not.

The official reason given by the team is "We have McCaffrey so we don't need him." I always thought depth and insurance in case someone gets hurt (cause ya know, football) were good things, but hey...

The tinfoil hat theory is that it's because of Twitter/Instagram posts.  I'd like to think our team leadership isn't stupid enough to part ways with a good player in midseason for a horses--t excuse like that.

Some folks believe there has to be more to it than that.  Me? I think there actually might not be.

No. It’s just some people are capable of judging a move on it’s merit and not a predetermined agenda. It’s an awful move with no logic. And it’s on Hurney and Rivera. Still doesn’t mean I want to get rid of a coach that wins 2/3 of his games and makes the playoffs 4out of 5 years and on way to another. Hurney though, hasn’t put a playoff roster together in a decade. So his leash should be much shorter.
