Panthers WAIVE CJ Anderson

Panthers released RB C.J. Anderson.

Anderson failed to carve out a role behind breakout workhorse back Christian McCaffrey and at times resembled old Panthers FB Mike Tolbert on the field rather than a svelte tailback. Cameron Artis-Payne is CMC's new top backup.

• If using CAP was in our plans, why did we even bother signing CJ?

• Once we signed CJ, why did we not use him? Especially power runs, picking up blitzes, 2 RB sets etc...

• I honestly have not seen anything from CJ that tells me he is a locker room cancer or some type of attention seeking self promoter. He is not that dude. So, what happened?

• It is also one thing to release him and stick by the BS statement of "CMC will  get more touches", but right away you go ahead and workout RBs that have never been heard of. CJ is a Superbowl winning capable young RB. I think he starts on most teams to be honest

 

I've never been a clean house blow it up kind of guy, but barring a miraculous SB win, just clean house. I hope Tepper cans each and everyone from Marty all the way down

I couldn't see him signing with anyone in the south except the bucs. Does he go to the waiver wire or is he free to sign with whoever? Can't remember how that works with vets

If CJ could start for “most” teams, we wouldn’t have signed him for 1.7M in late summer. And someone would have come calling at trade deadline. 

  Not smart by any means, but let’s keep it realistic about CJ.

I'd add that even if it were, social media posts would be an absolutely horse s--t reason to dump good depth off your roster when you're hoping for a playoff run.
