30 point losses by eventual Super Bowl champions

Defensive sloppiness got exposed by good coaching and a good qb.

Patchwork offensive line that has been performing well had a night when all of the members had their eventual overmatch at the same time.

Cam, statistically had a sound night (barring the ill-advised pick 6 throw which could be blamed on the line). CMC had three touchdowns and looked like he's what you want in a RB1. Pep ain't dead yet.

And sometimes a good team just gets an old fashioned ass whooping.

Can't hang up on the post season right now, there's a lot to learn from this game and 10 days to get it all back together.

Really, though, with everything that has been happening in Pittsburgh, the people of that city needed something like this, if for nothing else, just to give them a momentary reprieve from the real world. It was kismet, not karma.

That kind of reasoned, unemotional response isn't welcome here. Srsly, do u even Huddle bruh?

That was all on Cam.  Bad decision making that he should not be making at this stage in his career.  But our defense lost us this game imo.

Let's face it, in that stinkeroo of a game, what normally would be the thing to freak out about became just one more flyspeck on the Steeler's windshield.

They just ran over us, around us, through us and past us.

We weren't the drip kings last night, just a bunch of drips.

damn there's only 4 examples? and most are very early in the season?

that does NOT help...

this team WILL be in the playoffs as a wildcard and they WILL be one and done...

god forbid we get beat by the Saints three times for the second year in a row good lord.

Rivera’s right in that this sh!t does happen. All that matters is how they respond to this game. The defense got flat out embarrassed on national TV. If this is the impetus that motivates them into a playoff caliber defense, this could be a turning point game. If it’s just the cracks in the foundation of an already crumbling squad, well, big changes are on the horizon.

Either way the Super Bowl word should not be used by any panthers fans until improvement is seen

Patriots got blown out by the Chiefs 41-14 on Monday Night Football in 2014 and everyone was talking about how it was the end of the Patriots dynasty and Tom Brady's done and all that. Then they went on to win the Super Bowl.

The NFL is about match-ups and game planning. The Steelers obviously had a better Game Plan than the Panthers did on a short week. I wasn't as discouraged as I would've been had App State not laid the same stinker of a game on a short week. Week night games produce strange results some times and the Steelers are dynamic enough to be difficult to prepare for on a short week.

The offense didn't play poorly and given more opportunities, likely could've put up the 30 points we've come to expect from them. I'm not entirely sure what happened to the defense other than continuing to blitz Kuechly despite him having a 0% success rate in the game was a bad idea. Every third down Kuechly was sent and it left a huge void that he can usually cover, as one of the best coverage linebackers in the NFL. The play calling on defense was horrible and it's obvious that the game plan was off.

I would honestly compare the game to the Georgia - Auburn game last year during the regular season. Very, very poor game plan against a good team will result in a loss like this. Play this game 9 more times and this is likely the only time the score would be this lopsided and the Panthers likely win  6 of the 9 outright.
