It's sad that everyone forgot about Vernon Butler, though understandable.

I think Butler's issue is similar in some ways to Kony Ealy

Butler was drafted as insurance in case Kawann Short didn't return, and then Short returned. No problem as far as the team is concerned. Just make Butler a backup, right?

Except maybe Butler doesn't wanna be a backup.

Now, the proper response to such a situation is to play the absolute best that you can in the role that you're given and hope to be rewarded later.

Of course, that's not how everyone responds. Some people choose instead to get pissy and have a bad attitude because they don't feel they're being treated fairly.

I think this is what happened to Butler.

I am just gonna say it, crapped on or not...the DEs need to be better, or at least more consistent.  

But yeah the DL in general.  The only few times I have noticed Butler is when he got stupid unsportsmanlike penalties.  He ain’t doing anything which makes no sense with his size and talent.
