Not sure why Ron could not call the defense. It's not like Norv needs his help.

at the very least he should be taking over the reigns.

that ship don't get set right, it's on him. he can't afford to wait and have patience or whatever. poo like that isn't going to stick and tepper isn't the kind of guy who is going to let that kind of thing go.

Why should a current DL coach lose his job?

DL coach not exactly doing his job either IMO, but what we do know about Washington was he was a decent D-line coach, replace the question mark at DL Coach with a known commodity, and just let Rivera deal with the Defense.  Norv hold onto the Offensive side.  In the offseason, we can get either McDermmott or Wilks back as it's possible both get fired.

Yeah, we pretty much looked like trash last night, and we've taken a noticeable step back this season, but we're going to have to invest in the defense on the edge, and in the backfield. Until we do that, we'll be middle of the pack. We'll dominate bad to average offenses and look pretty much shitty against the elite ones.

They need to move him back to the DL posistion and get a real coordinator. He’s great when he’s running the DL. He’s not a full defensive coordinator.

edit: double quotes.

Like, Washington is a figure head y'all. This is Rivera's defense, has been since 2011. When we were getting blasted yesterday, it wasn't Washington huddling with Kuechly and the defense trying to figure things out, it was Rivera. Firing him would be Rivera making him a scapegoat, and he's never been that kind of coach.

This game ended the moment we blew that early momentum from the 7-0 lead. Very hard to win as a road team on Thursdays, the home team will always have the better legs.

Washington needs to go back and re-coach the dline.  Whoever is doing it now is doing it wrong.

Can he be gone monday? I hope so, certainly seen enough, but I dont think this is a scheme issue alone, not tonight anyways, you dont get beat that bad on scheme by itself.

Sure you can.  If we rushed only 2 every play, we are going to get killed.  We didn't, but you can.   I do agree though, that this loss was NOT only scheme.  Fumbled kicks, out manned oline, and secondary lapeses contributed.

I think everyone associated with the defense needs to be fuging fired.

Little bit extreme.  Still feel that way?

Who would even replace him?

RR take over those duties?  Don't know

Been saying this all night.. He had NO answers--and he has sucked all year.

He has sucked all year.  Part of that is d-line play.  Who is the d-line coach now?  He sucks.

He's in over his head, that much is clear.  It's a glaringly obvious Peter Principle in effect.

I agree and his learning curve is killing our post season chances.
